Eggs Pontchartrain 9.2/10

I stopped in here the Sunday following a long weekend. I sat in the courtyard next to the fountain and ordered the Eggs Pontchartrain, basically and eggs Benedict but on crab cakes instead of English muffins and ham slices.
It was fantastic.
I wish the cakes had a bit more crab meat in them but the flavor and texture was great. Mixing it with the runny yolk from the eggs was amazing.
Great hangover cure.

The creole shrimp was horrible. Tasted like boiled shrimp with spaghetti sauce from a cab over under seasoned rice. Do not get it. I’ve looked at previews reviews and they all say the same. We told our server and someone else who came to ask how our meal was. They definitely knew that this is something they are told often but didn’t do anything about it. I only ate the shrimp and left everything else because at least I’ll get my moneys worth. The fish was overly seasoned. Tasted like I was putting a spoon full of creole seasoning in my mouth. The server was the only thing worth in that place. Definitely skip it and go somewhere else

I had an early dinner reservation on a Thursday at 5pm. I got there a bit early and they were happy to seat me immediately. I sat in the lovely courtyard and was greeted as soon as I was at my table by a very attentive server. I asked about a signature drink and the explanation made me want to try it. I ordered the Taste of New Orleans which was delicious and then the Peanut Butter Torte for dessert. So yummy. It was a perfect start to my weekend in New Orleans. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Foods and drinks were good, but not that impressive. I ordered chicken but they were hard to chew. Jambalaya tasted okay. Foods coming out fresh and hot. Get ready to spend 50$-60$ at least per person as they are white linen table cloth fine dining restaurant. They got decent Drinks.

The restaurant is very nice and romantic! We went for a late dinner on a Sunday night and the service was amazing! The portion sizes are large and very filling. The food is very rich and flavorful, definitely highlighting the authentic and popular Louisiana cuisine and culture. A great spot to eat at when traveling!

When you go to New Orleans, your coming to try some creole or jambalaya right? If so you may want to consider New Orleans Creole Cookery.
They say Nawlins has 1,000 restaurants. Well obviously I didn’t try them all but I know what good Cajun cooking taste like and this place has it.
My wife had the Catfish Decatur over a plate up jambalaya. This plate was spot on. Some of the best I’ve had.
Me, I had the Redfish Ponchartrain. Although this plate was awesome, the catfish my wife had was better.
The serving size is huge. I’m the type I eat until I hurt so I finished mine. My wife ate maybe a third of hers. The homeless guy we gave it to sure was happy!!
The ambiance was pretty cool too. It’s in an old brick building, kinda like a warehouse. Noise level was good and service you couldn’t ask for better. Like to give a special shout-out to my man Kevin. He did a darn good job. He knew the menu well and provided us with several recommendations. Not on top of you too much but just right.
Give this place a try. I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed.

Honestly this is a thing for me, I hate wine serve in plastic, and this is my experience here, that threw me off, my wine was warm, he’ll no it’s already hot in NOLA, food was great but the crab cake was a bit too dry for me. Our serve was really kind. Apart from the warm drinks and crab cake, everything else was great.
