We had heard about the famous affogato so were excited to come to Vivoli to try it. The first time we came, they were not able to make any more. I’m not sure if it was an ingredient thing or an issue with the machine. I ended up getting a cup of gelato which was delicious. We came back earlier the next day and were able to get two affogatos. It was definitely worth coming back and absolutely lives up to the hype. It not only looks amazing, it tastes just as good.
The affogato al caffè is DELICIOUS. The way they serve it makes it very enjoyable to drink.
The gelato : espresso ratio is perfect.
The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. They also had a área to sit and enjoy your food, with outlets and a restroom.

We went not once, not twice but three times to Vivoli during our recent stay in Florence and I'm not even ashamed to admit that lol we had affogatos and an aperol spritz and it was the perfect beginning and ending to our evenings (my cousin also enjoyed their tiramisu); definitely recommend a visit!
The one table outside is a hot commodity, so I would recommend standing at the bar- they do allow tourist to indulge with filming.

Is it a touristy place? Yes. Is it very hyped and visited by every Westerner with a NYT subscription? Quite possibly.
However...get through the line, place your order with some haste, and your reward is immense. It sounds simple and pedestrian, the combination of "vanilla ice cream" and coffee. But this marriage of gelato and espresso is sublime. There's just something intoxicatingly good about it. It's the right amount of rich, sweet, strong, and soft.
I think I ate mine in about 35 seconds. It was just too good. You'll likely face a line and ponder "is it really worth it?"...well, I'm here to confirm — it absolutely is.

We visited this place to have a quick morning cornetto with caffe and we hadn't been dissapointed. Cornettoes were good and tasty and they have been baked here on site so big plus. Coffe were also good. Rise cake perfect creamy and fresh. Normal prices not so many people in the morning hours what else you need? Great place, for sure we revisit it in future. Grazie
Went for Pistachio gelato and boy it was SO GOOD!!! The best one I've had so far. The flavor was so rich. Friendly staff and fair prices. Would love to come back again when I visit Florence.
Welcoming staff and very lovely. The famous affogato is very good and delicious. The sweetness of the gelato and the espresso kick is amazing. Millefoglie is something else as well soooo good. Recommend

Lives up to the hype! The gelato is super smooth and creamy, with a nice espresso. We also ordered a mini sandwich which was nicely toasted. There wasn't seating available but drinking at the bar was a lovely experience. Quick service and a nice ambience
