They have 2 parking space, in terminal intermoda and in front of the gate. Less crowd in weekdays and you can bring your own food or drink. It's a nice place for children to learn about animals. But you have to always keep your eye to your children because of the crowd.

The ticket fee is cheap, 15 thousand per person. No wonder numerous visitors visit this zoo on weekends. It seems that they are improving the facilities (some spots look new, while others are left behind). One thing that they should improve is the route. Because the area is so spacious, visitors can go in any direction they want. We can find maps at some points, but a few directions. It may lead visitors to miss some animal spots.

Honestly it's my first time visiting Surabaya zoo even though I have lived in Surabaya since I was born. I visited Surabaya zoo when I was in kindergarten and compared to now, the place is much better. There are plenty of animals, and they have very clear instructions.

I visited Surabaya Zoo during weekdays but it's too crowded because students are on holiday. But don't worry, no wait line at all. The place is also very lush and has many trees, but no matter what use your sunscreen because Surabaya is HOT 🔥. The rest area/food court is very clean, they serve many various foods. The public toilet is also clean, even though you have to wait for a minute.

If you're Muslim, I don't recommend you coming here during weekends/public holidays because the mosque will be used as a rest place not for prayer. I saw many people staying there and sleeping etc.

Overall it was a good experience for me. I will come again when I have time.

Family friendly spot to spend your holiday with an affordable entrance ticket of 15K per person. Various animals for kids to learn about. It stinks in aves section but it's a natural thing, isn't it? For me it's so wide I couldn't even explore the whole place. Don't be afraid that you'll starve because there are lots of food vendors here

The zoo is small by the standards of Asian zoos. There are few benches where you can sit without being in a cafe.
The ticket to the aquarium must be bought separately 30 Rp. If you come in the morning and the gate there is closed, just come back later. This pavilion does not necessarily open with the rest of the zoo. It will open when the cashier arrives. There are also several enclosures with nocturnal animals: pangolins, hedgehogs, and flying foxes.
Separately, religious chants can be heard non-stop from the loudspeakers. It is really loud. And the sound is interfering and of poor quality.
There is an observation deck, it is located on the dilapidated tower. You can go up there.

Well, Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS) is smaller than Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta, so I think it's more convenient to the visitors to take a walk. The animals kept there are in good shapes 👍 and visitors can try some attractions there (camel/elephant rides, animals edutainment, night zoo, boats, etc)

But, this place is sort of low-end holiday getaway.. you know, there are plenty people there (a lot of them aren't discipline) and some uncomfortable street vendors out of the zoo area (they 'force' people to buy their goods like toys and balloons. Just becareful. Otherwise, KBS is a good place to visit with your family

Beautiful place, not so big but super green and comfy. All animals are well taken care of. Please keep it green.
Enough food vendors, very cheap, good variety and good food. Just please leave the menu on the table, don’t wait on by the table with all other vendors waiting for customer to choose. Give us room to read and decide. 😃
I’d recommend to go on week days in the morning.
I’d recommend everyone to visit, this is where you can come and pay normal price.

Most touristic destinations in Indonesia have local and tourist price 🤣 as if.
