McKinney Boyd Auditorium
LOVE the theater program at Boyd. Mr. Pitzer has crafted a great environment, along with the other theater teachers.

Apex Centre
Summer means SOOO MUCH FUN here that it should be called the Yay-pex Center. As of May 27th, thw outdoor pools are open!
They've got member pricing, one time visit pricing, local.resident discounts, and family pricing. For the 5 of us, the family member pricing is a steal!
This place has amenities GALORE. Outdoor pools include kids splash area, basketball, lazy river, sun deck, wide slide, 4 waterside, and a separate toddler area. There are bathrooms, changing/shower area, first aide and a few necessities for sale (for when you forget to bring sunscreen etc). They've got a billion lifeguards out here, a billion lounge chairs and umbrellas, and cabanas for rent. Another bonus: Kona Ice snowcones for sale.
That's just the outside! Inside there are more pools, another water slide, diving board, water ninja course, kids splash area, and more bathrooms/lockers. Along with all this, you visit or membership includes access to the full gym, basketball courts, track, babysitting room, classes, kids camp and more.
We love the Apex year round, but especially during summer. Pro tip: keep an eye out for their special events. The movie nights in the pools are a FANTASTIC family event. We bring a picnic and friends and have a great time. See you there!

Chestnut Square Historic Village
I absolutely love the McKinney Farmers Market. It's small, and the vendors are so great. I love getting fresh produce, gourmet cooking oils, French pastries, Greek dips, pasta, and so much more. I'm so glad they changed it so that it is open year round now!
Oki Japanese Grill - Sushi & Hibachi
We really enjoyed our lunch at Oki Japanese grill! The menu and signs, all over the place, are a little overwhelming, especially since it all looks delicious! It took us a few minutes to figure out exactly how/what to order, but that's also because they have so many choices.
The main choices that you have for your meal are; a sushi roll, hibachi or teriyaki, or a noodle bowl. Plus, they have a HUGE selection of sushi including some special ones that you will only find at their restaurant.
We each had a hibachi bowl, one with shrimp and one with beef, both with fried rice. We also shared a sushi roll which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the sunshine roll. Everything else looks so delicious, we will definitely be back. We did notice that they had a 2 for $10 lunch special. But we didn't take advantage of that because we wanted to try some of the bigger dishes.
The restaurant is super clean inside. It probably has enough places for about 20 to 30 people to sit. Anything you order from here would be definitely good for takeout or delivery. The staff was super friendly and asked us several times if they could help us navigate the menu and the choices because it was a bit overwhelming. I'm really excited about the selection of food they have here. It would probably take us 15 visits to even get through the top item on our "need to try" list.
