Love Park
2023 Oct 06
The Love Park was built during the pandemic and took 2 years to complete. The area used to be the off ramp of the Gardiner Express Highway. It features a red heart shape pond. Within the centre of it is a large tree on an island. It is close proximity to the Harbourfront Centre, Queen’s Quay, Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and RBC Waterpark Place.
There are no washroom facilities on site but there are benches to sit, several tables and chairs to lounge. There is even a little area for the dogs to be unleashed.
Around this park, there are 9 bronze animal statues to seek out. It’s hard to locate all of them if there are a lot of people around. Beaver, squirrel, owl, bird, raccoon, bear, bunny, and one more animal. The fox is a hit with the little ones because they love to sit on it.
Apparently, the Berzcy Dog Park and the Love Park are related. Both parks are similar in design. People can gather, sit, walk their dogs, and people watch. The Love Park has 9 animals while the Berzcy Park features 27 statues of dogs and a lone cat. The key difference between the two is the water fountain feature at the Berzcy Park.

Liberty Village Park
2023 Jul 30
Liberty Village used to be an industrial site with a railway access. There was a prison full of convicts right on Liberty Street. So once the “prisoners served their term and are released, their first step would be on Liberty Street.”
The area was somewhat neglected until the condo builders redeveloped it to what it is today. The Toronto Carpet Factory, a historical landmark still exist today. Some of the old buildings in the area were integrated and converted into lofts and condo units. It’s a vibrant community consisting of young professionals and young families.
The TTC runs right through the area, and there is the Exhibition Go Train station right off Hanna Road. Basically one can easily walk to the CNE aka the EX every summer and enjoy the festivities and rides there.
In the centre of it all is the Liberty Market Village. A historical building that was rebuilt into a retail and office building. A self sustaining community with a bank, dentist clinic, hair salon, nails salon, restaurants with great patios, doctors clinic, grocery store, coffee shop, bubble tea shop, veterinary hospital, etc. It’s a place called home to at least 4,000+ residents.
To break the concrete jungle, a park called Liberty Village Park was opened. It’s a nice small place for the dogs (watch out for poo), and a playground for the kids to play.
There is an old house on this park which is currently in progress for restorations. Many years ago, one can actually go in this house unattended and access the second floor and get a bird’s eye view of the immediate area.
There are no washroom facilities onsite.

Banksy Street Art
2022 Nov 03
Internationally recognized Street Artist, Banksy’s identity is unknown to the public. His artwork appears in public spaces and can fetch for millions. He works in secrecy.
He announces his work over his social media accounts.
Banksy visited Toronto in the past, and he did about 7 canvases across our city. Only 2 are left.
1 of them is this painting. It is called the “2 Man and a Child.” The owner of the building decided to protect and frame it. The public can view it for free.
This area used to be an alleyway, but the present tenant, Goose Island Brewhouse Toronto Restaurant decided to use the space as a lovely outdoor dining area.
This is located at Church Street and The Esplanade. It is a short walking distance to the St. Lawrence Market and the Gooderham Building.

Asian Legend
2022 Sep 10
Asian Legend who specializes in the Northern Chinese cuisine started in the late 1980's in downtown Chinatown. With a modest beginning, there are now several locations across the GTA.
1. Braised Beef noodles soup.
2. Smoked fish, Drunken Chicken soaked in liquor, and Deep marinated Beef Shank.
3. Sauted Snowpea Shoot with Garlic
4. Boiled dumplings - chicken and mushroom
They do takeouts, online orders, and also do their own local deliveries. There is Wi-Fi access for their dine in customers. There are washrooms available on-site. If you have mobility issues, ask them where the nearest one is.
The staff are courteous and attentive. Do you know they have a yearly VIP card program. If you have one, you can save 10% off your bill and collect points for gifts. Ask Joyce for further details. She is fluent in English and treats her customers like a VIP.
There are several VIP rooms available at this location. Some are located in the main dining hall, while the others are located at the back of restaurant. Sliding doors separate these VIP rooms and can easily accommodate different sizes of group of people. Be aware there is a minimum order food charge per individual room. Call ahead for pricing.
There are ample parking spaces at the front, side and at the back of the building. If there are no more parking spaces, which happens occasionally since this restaurant do get busy. You can discreetly park in the neighbouring stores and plazas. There is a multi level mall next door and a supermarket at the way back.
They accept cash, debit and credit card payments. I gave ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because of my whole dining experience with the Servers, Food taste and presentation, and the overall cleanliness of Restaurant.
They still abide to covid 19 protocols. I noticed a hand sanitizer bottle in every table, and all the dishes and utensils are still wrapped. You feel safe because the tables are still socially distance from one another. Note they do not have an outdoor patio.
