This was the third thrift store I went in yesterday and I was prepared for disappointment. However, this shop surprised me with great prices and a super friendly shop owner, Suz! I found some black, Eddie Bauer, corduroy pants that fit me perfectly and for only $6!! Suz also told me she did all of the artwork on the outside of the building which is perfect for pictures. Aside from the pants, I was also tempted by a pink cashmere sweater and a Madewell sweater, but I had to restrain myself. She also has a small selection of housewares and children’s books available. Definitely don’t skip this little shop!

This museum is such a resource to the city! This art museum features free admission (donation boxes provided), free (limited) designated parking, rotating special exhibits, weekly discussions focusing on a specific piece, special night-life events, and an event venue all wrapped up in this marbled, art-deco building. Birmingham truly is lucky! Recently, they recently partnered with Juniper, a local restaurant, operate as a cafe on weekdays during lunch and on specific weekends listed on the museum’s website. I cannot wait to go on a lunch date here with my wife! Definitely support this wonderful organization.

Such a sweet monument to acknowledge all of the hate and violence that the LGBTQ community has dealt with. It also stands to keep awareness up so that it doesn’t become common again.

This was a super cool place to walk around and see the old names that were popular. Coming from the U.S. it’s very interesting to see how far the dates go back to. It’s free to just walk in. Unfortunately, we got there 20 minutes until close so we didn’t get to explore quite enough, but I’d definitely recommend it!

I went here for brunch before hitting up the Micropia museum and I was NOT disappointed! I was seated immediately at a window seat and waited on. The vibe inside is so relaxed but still stylish. The wait staff were all kind and accommodating. My server answered my questions about the menu and gave me his recommendations. I ordered a regular hot latte and the “shak attack”. Both were delicious and I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy something else. I would definitely go back if ever in Amsterdam!
