A pot of tea sets you back RM20, at the lowest priced dimsum platter. Shrimps are fresh in the assorted dimsum. The fried versions excelled while the steamed ones were unremarkable. Better culinary dimsum art can be found at Ming Room Bangsar. The overall shortcoming of taste seems to be related to the lack of pork as part of the recipe in the making. The squid ink harkau was disappointing lacking any umami saltiness from the dark additive. The Macau tart was too sweet but held by tender layers of pastry. Shimeji mushrooms lifted the otherwise tasteless steamed chicken feet. No Michelin star expected anytime soon for the bored chefs in their glass cage.

Surprising range of cheese cakes crafted for every indulgence. Pleasing to the eyes, light to taste but no eureka find. Latte was smooth with a good bean selection. Atmosphere is now more noisy babies and families.
Nice facility for weekend conference except for overcharging for parking.

A new MRT station that has potential as an interconnect with the old LRT line at Plaza Rakyat. The signages are not clear but there is a walkway with travelators for only halfway designed to make your journey longer than 15 minutes.

The beef soup noodles or fondly known as ngau lam mee (RM9.00) is a Cantonese variation from what is served in HK, with a darker soy base of dried mandarin skin, herbs and spices. The noodles are delicately cooked and the soup is nourishing despite its presentation. A young couple operates this stall, certainly 2nd or 3rd Choy generation as the stall claims a pre-war 1940 origin. A similar offering by octagenarian couple can be found at Kampung Malabar. The handcrafted wantons here (RM0.55 each) are filled with robust minced pork, lacking any shrimps, surprisingly on an island. The stall only operates on weekdays. Today, the beef brisket ran out, so you can settle for the Wantan Mee(RM5.50) plus beef soup (+RM1.00) to satisfy your carny binge.Coffeeshop offers homemade barley(RM2.00) and lohan guo(RM2.50) drinks.
Night comes alive on this street around 5pm when the dislocated Chulia Street hawkers gather. The stalls at this kopitiam also compete with fried noodles like Hokkien Char(RM7) with another offering "Chu Char" dishes like frog, fish and veggies.
