Magnificent and romantic place. The monument symbolizes the mother state and its child, the supposed shape visible above the woman's figure. The park area around the monument includes the water channel with several wonderful fountains, artificial ponds/streams, the hill with panoramic view, many ultimately tidy flower beds with roses, peonies, irises and other beautiful flowers and bushes. Old Oaks are magnificent and beautiful here. Rigas opera is also situated within this area.
An amazing and magnificent place. A unique atmosphere surrounds this location, which I might even call magical to some extent. The huge territory is filled with authentic buildings and gorgeous sculptures from the 19th century, inspired by ancient Greek motifs. The grandeur of the space is truly awe-inspiring. Channels organically surround these beautiful buildings.
An amazing modern museum with a great variety of interactive exhibits telling stories about people who suffered from the loss of freedom during times of occupation, both as a country and on a personal level when imprisoned or sent to exile. Here, you truly understand the price citizens had to pay to keep their country free and independent.
The museum features a very nice headset system that allows visitors to explore information on every item or story in thematic rooms spread across multiple floors.
During my visit, there was also an exhibition of posters by the famous Estonian/Ukrainian artist Nikita Titov in the entrance to the gallery.
It's pleasant to be in this natural reserve during the early spring bright sunshine. The sea calmly laps nearby, surging towards submerged boulders on the beautiful and wild beach, overgrown by Baltic Sea keystone species - brown algae, specifically bladderwrack. The tower itself represents a reconstructed old brick military building from the soviet era, with three floors. At the top, a quite nice panorama of the bay opens up. It's possible to distinguish birds, although it's better to use field glasses.
Great Museum under open air situated on the coast with an awesome view of the Tallinn Bay. Multiple buildings of a fisherman's village from the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are perfectly restored.
An accurately restored and well-preserved fisherman's/merchant's wooden boat from the 18th/19th centuries, on which many generations sailed across the Gulf of Finland, is a unique exhibit of this museum.
The stories of families that lived and worked hard here centuries ago are very educational and inspiring.
