ROKA Dubai
Came to this restaurant with my family for a lunch menu. There were 13 of us.
Roka messaged me multiple times and emailed me a few times to confirm our orders.
We were seated in the private dining area, which was a very nice area cordoned off from the rest of the restaurant.
The cocktails were amazing as usual as were the appetizers. We ordered some à la cart sushi, and nigiri, which was great. The only problem we had at Roka was that they still somehow managed to mess up our main orders, even after so many confirmations and calls about our mains.
Out of 13 guests the mains for three did not turn up. Two of them were hotpots which we eventually got 30 minutes after the rest of the people got their food. One of the baby chicken never came.
However, after letting them know of our displeasure, they only charged us for 12 guests. They also put the dessert on the house which was a nice gesture because they needed to give two dessert platters for the tables.
All in all a lovely outing with family.
Reasonable spend of 3350 for the whole party.

I arrived at this restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday night. It's a small family run place with literally 2 people, one in the kitchen and one waiting tables. They are super sweet and so hardworking that I honestly did not mind waiting.
Then something amazing happened- a Dutch family started helping them wait tables so the Indonesians could both cook in the kitchen. Things moved faster and the atmosphere was so warm and friendly. I did the wise thing by just ordering whatever was ready, in my case it was yellow rice and chicken curry which was absolutely 10/10. I wanted the Soto ayam but it had run out.
Would love to come here again in busier times when they have help.

Uma Cucina
Made it to Uma Cucina for dinner one night. Lovely open restaurant with a terrific vibe.
I like the side lounge and bar that they have next to the restaurant where people can go and chill and then come to their table for dinner.
We ordered the roast chicken, the mushroom pizza and the prawn Pasta. The chicken was as best as any roast chicken can get, but the pasta was a stand out. The pizza was also terrific. We had the cheesecake which we all enjoyed and a lovely glass of wine.
All in all highly recommend!!
