Most people chase the big names that they see in "must see" blogs. So, nearby Trinity Church is usually quite sought out. However, if you would care to just look around you'll find many interesting, historically significant and even quirky pieces of art scattered about New York City that together make NYC an art-filled, living metropolis. One example is this statue. Tucked away in an old cemetery near the Trinity Church, it's oft overlooked. Yet, it shouldn't be. This comment should be seen as a small effort to bring to people's attention such lesser known and often-missed pieces of heritage.
One of those rare sculptures that is also quirky! I love the way Benjamin Franklin is depicted. It's also very life like and you feel like you're interacting with Franklin. Kudos to the sculptor. His work is not only still part of our collective heritage its also quite alive with a life of its own. That in the end is the true sign of great art. 👍
One of the most important places in Murree, is the Governor's House. It's an old historic building at Kashmir Point. You can't go in and there is alot of security. But its good to walk around it or you can take the Safari Train. Many restaurants, tuck shops, tea stalls, and other fun things to do nearby. Also, Hot Spot and Maisonette Firhill Restaurant are nearby which you can go check out. Cheers!
Moscow is an old American township. This is a really old part of the city. The historic area is full of great old buildings. There's the Latah County Historical Society building next door. Great place to start your Moscow tour. This mansion is extremely well preserved and served by terrific staff. They even have nice goodies out for you to take. It's a great experience walking through America as it would have been in the late 19th century. It comes complete with old radios, telephones, furniture and other museum-like displays. Take a the kids there. Great fun!
Want to go back into America's history? Want to learn about how America lived in times as distant as the American Civil War? The Latah Historical Society might just be the place for you in this distant corner of the northwest. They have everything from old letters to old photographs of Moscow. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Take a walk around. Ask questions. They might be able to show you fascinating things that you would never have otherwise seen if you hadn't go here and talked to someone there!
