Arepas House

First time at Arepas House and tried the Patacón, which is like a giant sandwich with fried plantain as the pieces of bread. It was decent but awkward to eat, especially with the plastic cutlery provided. Plantain seems over fried and too dry. The inner ingredients were tasty but def coming back to try the arepas next time. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Ordering is a bit impersonal with screen only and option of the app. People behind the counter seems a bit indifferent to customers.
Ros Siam

With all the options for Thai in Denver these days it can be tricky to veer away from what you know, but super glad to try Ros Siam as it was OUTSTANDING. Flavors were on point in all the dishes we ordered, I’m talking about those deep, rich, spicy, sour, and fragrant goodness that all good Thai should have. The level 3 spice was just right if you need a solid clearing of the sinuses but simultaneously want keep the lining of your stomach in tact. The service was as good as you can ask for in a popular restaurant that’s scantly staffed. #childfriendly. Maybe eating Thai food in an old Victorian is odd but it’s also oddly kinda cool. Great experience, will be back!
Bourbon Grill

Hadn’t visited BG since they moved west on Colfax to this new location but even with a major building upgrade and shiny new sign, it keeps it real as an eatery for the people! The same owners still run it with some extra help to pump volume. The food still comes in heaping portions, really enjoyed the bourbon chicken and blackened fish even if the sides are a bit generic. If bang for the buck and a slice of Colfax is what you want, it’s still alive and well at Bourbon Grill.
Tamales By Sara

Really liked the green chile and cheese tamales, would pass on the red pork though. Service was prompt and kind.
Top quality Italian desserts, have never been let down. Order just about anything, DEICIOUS. This location is definitely supersized with indoor and outdoor seating. However, since it’s Times Sq. it feels less personable and lacking on cleanliness. Oh well, still very nice for a sweet treat.
