Symphony House

The apartment was not clean for move in. Old 1980s building which you can't change. They are trying to change the windows floor by floor. The heater / Ac clicks and makes loud odd noises so you freeze while you sleep or get woken up. NOT baby or kid friendly they got rid of their kid room so no place to play when rain or snow. The area is convenient but super noisy with traffic, emergency vehicles stuck in traffic, and crazy people yelling daily. Laundry there is 2 dryers and 2 washers per floor and more on ground floor but tenants don't know how to empty the filter and the room and floor is smelly and dirty. Food and grocery deliveries you have to be home to pick up Asap or you get in trouble, and they won't deliver to your room you must get it at the entrance. The gym, pool, and amenities are nice but very very costly and they charged my guest and me double charged and it took any interactions to get the funds back. Some of the doormen and staff are lovely. There was a huge mosquito problem in the lobby and when they find your way to your room enjoy swatting your face in the middle of the night.
West End Park

This park stinks VERY badly of (dog) urine and excrement. Dog owners / walkers, the kids don't have much option for places to play, The schools only have this park as an option. The kids can only walk so far.
Take your dog's elsewhere or don't own a dog.

The children's area is padded and gated and fine, but need to bring attention to the awful smell and hygiene.
Worth the 5 min to pass through to.enhoy the large unique brass sculptures if you're already in the area. The sound of the water is soothing. Nice little tunnel passage. Didn't really see many shaded seating spots.
Delacorte Clock

Beautiful statues and clock. Hard for small kids to see as it's high up. Behind and beyond the clock wall is a cute dancing? bear fountain with five frogs spouting water from their mouths, with benches to sit on. Also a guy playing sax in the alcove cave towards central park.
Balsley Park

Too many pigeons which people obviously feed and smokers too. I would spend time there if otherwise but currently a NO - not taking my kids there.
Small green patch, seems there is a Italian or Spanish permanent food stand. not a kids park.
