I was blown away by the atmosphere and customer service but it soon became very clear to me that we paid a sky high price for the ambiance and not the food. There was not one dish that my husband and I walked away raving about. There were courses that I did not touch at all. The creativity was off the charts and I appreciated the stories behind each course but a lot of the dishes and flavor combos were just too odd for me to fully enjoy. Marshmallow with onion soup ? Lobster / beef “ hot dog”on a matcha bun? I was glad to see sourdough during the main course to get a reprieve but the butter was red and a bit spicy so that didn’t work out too well for us either. All of the servers were lovely and we got some great pictures but that’s about it. I’m laying in bed now not feeling well. Wondering if it could have been the oyster I ate….yes one oyster that was served in one of the earlier courses. They did provide a card for my birthday, which was a nice touch as well as some ingredients to make Dashi broth at home. In any case, I wanted to love this place but just didn’t. It makes me a bit sad that we spent so much.
