Wait! Haven't I chimed in on this one before? How to *rate* the place that one calls HOME for the last 8 years!!?? I mean, we're rating our kids--Kata and Uta, now 12 and 8--here, and WOW!!! We love it here. It is the best of Downtown and perfectly centered to allow one to feel connected, well, depending on how one feels about the magical New York City, as if one is living at the center of the universe!!! We love it...allows us to feel like we are living like resident-tourists here in the City we love!

When one becomes habituated to one's environment it makes it quite difficult to rate what for the fish equates to asking, "What's water?" But we all out our front door every day into this little green slice of New York City that is filled with chlorophyll-giving greenery and we can look at that expanse of the plant kingdom outside the building and thank goodness for every breath, all the O2 we so mindlessly take in every day....thanks to all things green, Thanks Peter Cooper Village Lawn!!!

Whoa! We have had so many adventures at New York City Opera--they were for many years in/at Lincoln Center...used to have performances on Sundays. We loved going there...and are more than happy to support this place ad infinitum....Yeeeee-Ha!!!!
Gandhi Garden

For years ands years--OK, a couple of decades now--this spot (we've always referred to it as the Gandhi Garden) has been the par excellence place in Union Square for a meet-up!!! It is a gorgeous garden with trees and flowers blooming off and on all year---and, well, Gandhi's praxis (philosophy-meets-action) of Satyagraha is an absolute requirement for living with/in the throngs of humanity here in Downtown New York City!!!

We've lived at 530 East 23rd Street for coming on 8 years, we never ever ever want to leave. We love it here! We found ourselves in 466 square feet of lovely, lovely Manhattan (Bleecker and Broadway), and...preggo. So, we needed a space solution. Initially, that solution was StuyTown--we loved it (still so, but...): another pregnancy, another deep and desperate need for space. Peter Cooper Village, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom--views in every room (even the bathroom) of the East River! We landed in NYC heaven....coming home to thos every day: WOW!!!
