If you can make it for a tour, I highly recommend it. The lighthouse is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Jim was our tour guide, and he is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the top are great, and the information about the history of the lighthouse and all of the surrounding area is very well kept and displayed.

Unfortunately, we got there after the park was closed, but we could still get an okay view from the Boat Ramp area outside of the gate. However, there is a much better view, if you drive across the small bridge nearby to the restaurant and marina on the other side. They were nice enough to let us use a valet parking spot for free while we snapped a few quick photos.

This historic landmark is in much need of some care and attention.

Active since 1873. Also known as Miller's Island light, this 105 ft (32 m) square cylindrical cast iron tower with lantern, double gallery, and square central cylinder, is the tallest lighthouse in Maryland. The lower half of the tower is painted white, with the upper half red, and the lantern black. We viewed it from Dock of the Bay restaurant; however, there are other views from Ramona Beach or North Point State Park.

Active since 1873, this 42 ft (13 m) round cast iron sparkplug tower with lantern and upper and lower galleries, is mounted on a concrete caisson.
It is located out in the water, about 2 miles East, Southeast of North Point. The lighthouse is painted dark red, with white trim, and the lantern is black. It is the the second oldest caisson lighthouse in the nation and the second oldest sparkplug tower.
