Amazing to see the scale of this place with five different churches and room for tens of thousands of pilgrims. None of the churches seem particularly spectacular, especially the newest one; quite a miss from an architectural standpoint. But if you have religious feelings, it could be a deeply moving experience to visit here.

Lovely visit to the grounds; worth a walk around to the wharf and other outer reaches of the plantation. House is currently under construction and seems like the least interesting part of the property anyway, so maybe give that a pass. The enslaved peoples tour was pretty interesting. Lots of school tours with kids running wild in mid-October; they mostly cleared out by 1PM if you would prefer to avoid.

Found the food to be mediocre. The waiter seemed annoyed at our questions about vegan options. Papadams and sauces were good and plentiful.

Amazing and beautiful. Unlike at many attractions, here the free audio guide is worth the effort. Lots of nice short features that you can select in any order you would like. I was less impressed than I expected by the view from the dome; mostly construction cranes these days😕. Toilets are in the crypt; you have to show your ticket to get back in after using them.
