2A is one of my all time favorite bars in NYC, dive upscale or otherwise. It's authentic. I first went in 1998. Recently I visited again. It has not changed at all. In fact it might be a little better. I would tell anyone visiting lower Manhattan -particularly foreign travelers- to stop by 2A. It has an old charm that might stand out as you see a new city built around it.

It took a few years, but Tubby Hook is now an excellent neighborhood pub. The food is better. The burgers are now excellent. The service has stepped up. It feels like it is now in sync with Inwood. It's a pub we can be proud of.
