Sadly the route at the bottom is currently closed due to some daft health and safety issue no doubt because a couple of chunks of sandstone have come adrift! More risk from walking the upper path than going through the tunnel.

Really good airport, easy to find your way around. Lots of self service check-in terminals for boarding cards and baggage check-in. Really good choice of eateries airside and some good local duty free drinks. Found a whisky from the Turner Valley distillery we had visited a few days earlier.

Great view. Also a good workout. Using it for Training for my Brecons challenge. There are lots of walks across from here on the sandstone trail and into the hills at the back of frodsham.

Nice spot to just sit and listen to the birds and the water flowing though leaks in the rather tired lock gates. Often sit there with the dog, sharing a sandwich and my flask of tea!
Update June 2022
The locks have now been ruined by the addition of metal fencing to keep you to the allocated walkway, so you can now no longer sit on one of the bollards/cleats as you could only a month or two ago and appreciate the location. Suddenly not a friendly place to be! Shame on you MSC.
