This is a good place for younger kids to experience salt marsh/wetlands with an easy hike. The Basin Trail (1.1 miles to observation deck) starts at the Visitor Center and goes through some wooded areas with dirt trails, sandy areas, and boardwalk across water. The entire trail is flat but some areas (sand and mud) would be difficult to push a stroller. It was also very wet and muddy when we went so rainboots are helpful. There are bathrooms, maps, picnic tables, grills, and vending machines at the Visitor Center. Vending machines take cash and cards.
Great little park with playground equipment, a sprayground enclosed with a fence, soccer fields, baseball fields, and a walking trail. Working restrooms, water fountain, grill, picnic tables under the restroom pavilion, and a few shaded benches to sit.
