Thai Thai Villa

I've come to love this little Thai place in Huntington Village. The food is excellent, the prices aren't as bad as some other Thai places nearby, and we like the people who run it. It's also close to the public parking lot, convenient to the handicapped spaces, so it's easy for my elderly mom to get to. We've gone here for several family birthdays and holidays and have never been disappointed.
Cottage Pharmacy

My elderly mother's physician recommended that she get a compression stocking. It seems hard to find a pharmacy or supplier who carries them anymore and will fit you for one. I've been told by some seniors that they can cause more problems if too tight. We were sent to Bay Orthopedic, but they sent us to Cottage Pharmacy. The sales clerk explained that we needed more info, and we got sizing info from mom's doctor and returned. They seemed very well informed and gave useful advice about wearing them. Don't accept insurance payment for them however, as some stores are rumored to.
The rest of the store is very upscale but appealing, with all manner of cute gifts, supplies, and top shelf cosmetics. There's a good chance you'll encounter customer ladies who lunch, in their workout best, all very friendly. Pay a visit.

Great Chinese food; wish it was closer would eat here all the time. Bonus dishes for big orders were a nice surprise. A few tables but really a take out place.
Centerport Beach Park

I'm perplexed that everyone likes this dumpy little beach. It has very little to offer and $30 day pass is obscenely overpriced. How can the town demand that with a straight face? Huntington rakes park users over the coals for access to these measly waveless stretches of pebbles, permeated with sand flies, and distinguished from the rest of the LI coast solely by the fact that they're not private property. CA, in contrast, charges $10 or less for some of the most spectacular beaches in the country and are far more pleasurable to visit. The coasts of the great lakes far surpass these pathetic "parks" as well.
