Chesapeake Planetarium

I've loved this planetarium since my first visit on a field trip in school. The 8pm Thursday shows for the public are educational, and it's extra treat on clear nights when they have telescopes set up following the show. Shows are free but you have to call to make a reservation ahead of time. Each month features a different topic; my favorites are in December (usually about the Christmas star) and the April constellation tour. If you love the night sky, you will appreciate what the planetarium has to offer!
Great museum, amazing displays and interactive experiences! A national treasure and a must-see when in DC!
Great Bridge Lock Park

Nice park and trail. It's quiet, clean, and family-friendly with spots for the kids to run and play, or to sit and take in nature. The museum on the other side is informative and interesting for history buffs. There are also other trails there, too.

Wow, the history here! Nice historic home and definitely worth the wait to get in to see the room where President Lincoln was brought after being shot, and died.
Bells Mill Park

Bells Mills is beautiful and family friendly throughout the year! Wide walking paths around the park with slight inclines are great for those who walk for exercise or just want to escape into nature for a while. Paths can be muddy after rain, and you definitely want to wear insect and/or tick repellent during the warmer months. Our dogs really enjoy the trails as well!
