Cheddar Gorge
2024 Dec 17
Our afternoon visit to Cheddar Gorge was a truly memorable experience. The stunning limestone cliffs and dramatic scenery were breathtaking, making it a perfect spot to relax and take in the natural beauty. Driving through the gorge was a highlight in itself, with its winding roads and towering cliffs creating an incredible atmosphere.

We also enjoyed a stroll through the charming village of Cheddar, where we explored local shops and, of course, couldn’t resist trying some delicious, locally made Cheddar cheese. The history and beauty of this place make it a must-visit destination, and we loved every moment of our visit!
John Cabot, sitting in his bronze form, gazes out over Bristol's Harbour as if still planning his next voyages to unknown lands. His statue on the waterfront is not only a tribute to the explorer himself but also a symbolic reminder of Bristol’s maritime history, which for centuries connected Europe to new continents. In a way, Cabot, "sitting" there, as you put it, watches how the city changes, as modern Bristol grows out of its old maritime traditions.
It's a nice place, but the proximity of the M32 makes it difficult to block out the noise of passing cars even when running with headphones in.
