I had an exceptional dining experience at Daedalus, and much of that was thanks to our server, Niall. From the moment we were seated, Niall was super sweet and incredibly attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. His friendly demeanor and excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience.

The food at Daedalus was fantastic. We started with the burrata bruschetta, which was a perfect blend of creamy and tangy flavors – a delightful way to begin our meal. For the main course, I ordered the scallops, which were cooked to perfection. The risotto accompanying the scallops was initially a bit too salty, but the staff handled it impressively. The manager quickly addressed the issue and had a new plate prepared for me. The risotto the second time around was absolutely amazing – creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.

Niall’s great service, combined with the restaurant’s excellent food and responsive management, made for a memorable evening. The way the team handled the minor hiccup with the risotto showed their commitment to customer satisfaction, which I deeply appreciated.

Overall, Daedalus offers a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. Niall’s warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression, and I will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!
I recently had breakfast at the South End Buttery in Boston, and I'd like to share my thoughts for those considering a visit. First and foremost, the venue itself is quite charming, situated in a lovely neighborhood that adds to its appeal. Upon our early morning arrival, we were greeted by a completely empty restaurant. Despite this, and not having a reservation, our request to be seated along the edge of the room was unfortunately not accommodated, and we found ourselves placed right in the center of the empty space downstairs.

As for the food, I opted for the mushroom omelette. The dish was presented neatly, and while the ingredients were fresh, I found the overall size quite small for the price point. The flavors, though unique, didn't quite harmonize as well as I had hoped, leading to an overall okay but not memorable culinary experience. Also the cheese in my omelette wasn’t melted.

On the note of value, I felt the pricing was a bit steep relative to the portion sizes and the culinary experience provided.

To sum up, while the South End Buttery has its charms and the setting is undeniably pleasant, my visit left me feeling that there's room for improvement in terms of seating flexibility, portion sizes, and flavor combinations. It's a decent spot for those in the area who are looking for a quick bite in a nice environment, but manage your expectations regarding the culinary experience and pricing.

Ball Square Cafe

My experience at Ball Square Cafe in Somerville was a mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, the breakfast menu boasts a great combination of flavors in various dishes. The creativity in their menu items truly stood out, and the food itself was delicious.

However, the service was a bit lacking. There was no follow-up to check if our orders were accurate, which was a disappointment. It's the attention to detail in service that truly elevates an experience. Additionally, the concept of self-serving water and drinks seemed a bit unusual, making the overall service experience less personalized.

Despite the service hiccups, the quality of the breakfast options makes Ball Square Cafe a worthwhile visit for the food alone. If they can improve on the service aspect, it has the potential to be an even more enjoyable dining spot.
Honeycomb Creamery in Somerville is a gem. Their ice cream flavors are truly out of this world, with a delightful variety to choose from. Special shoutout to Kyra, who is part of their awesome staff, for making the experience even more enjoyable. This place is simply amazing, offering a fantastic ice cream treat and top-notch service. A must-visit for ice cream lovers!
