Spirit of Selkie

This is truly a very special place. Holy Island was given to St Aidin in the 7th century by King Oswald. It's been a place of Christian worship and pilgrimage ever since.

Check the tide 🌊 times before you go across the causeway ..don't get stuck on the Island unless you intended to.

What a beautiful palace. The King or family were in residence when we visited and we didn't manage to view the actual castle from the inside.

The gardens & grounds are beautiful...as one would expect given it was Queen Elizabeth's favourite place.

The vegetable & flower gardens are beautiful.even in October and the formal grounds are certainly impressive.
