I had this restaurant recommended by a Lao friend who is in the restaurant business and it did not disappoint. If you want truly authentic Lao food that caters to the local Lao population this is a great option. You will get food cooked like they do at home & not modified to an American palette that is more accustomed to Thai food. Small restaurant with limited seating, and lots of Lao decor. The staff was very friendly. There are 6 parking spots right in front or else street parking.

The cooked larb beef was fantastic. Often if you can find this dish at a Thai restaurant it will be ground beef which isn’t as good, but not here. Thinly sliced beef with lots of aromatics. Make sure to order a side of sticky rice which it is typically eaten with. There was enough food for 2 people if you ordered 2 sides or rice. Heat was on a scale of 1-10 and they gave me a “medium”. I like spicy food and boy was I sweating.

I was also recommended the Kao Piek soup and absolutely loved it. It balanced out the heat from the larb since it is not spicy. It is similar to an American chicken noodle soup, but 10X better. Very thick broth with tons of garlic and very comforting. They hand make the noodles everyday. If you want it spicy, typically you add chili oil (not sriracha) which is a condiment at the table. Their chili oil is much spicier than other Asian restaurants I’ve been to so taste it first.
Old Jail Museum

Really cool jail to see and I like they give you time after the tour to explore sections on your own. I felt the tour could have had a little more explanation as they had other interesting facts after asking them more questions. I know it's been challenging to have enough guides though.

If you're already in Jim Thorpe I would give it a visit.
Momo Palace

Delicious momo dumplings! They are similar to Chinese soup dumplings but with a little different filling which I loved. They were also bigger than must dumpling places I've been to with a lot of filling and 8 pieces was enough for me. For the Jhol you can add veggies on top for 10 cents each veggie type. Located in the Worcester Public Market which has a nice food court vibe. I'll be back!
We had a pre-wedding celebration (Gaye Holud) at the larger event hall at Maironis and could not recommend this venue enough. Romas, the manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with and was one of the main reasons we decided to choose this venue. He is very accommodating and will go out of his way to help you. We asked to come visit the place numerous times (with our photographers, caterer, etc.) and he always made time. There is a lot of flexibility with this venue in terms of bringing your own food, having a caterer, decorating, etc.
The place was very reasonably priced and looked great. It also has a large kitchen that is available for use. If you are needing to rent dishes for your event, talk to Romas as well because they can also do that. It was way cheaper than any party rental service & much more convenient because he handles the setup and cleaning of the dishes. We had initially looked at several other rentals for dishes because we didn’t know Maironis had that capability & the prices were significantly higher.

Thank you Romas for helping make the planning process smooth and the event a success!
Red Pepper

Highly recommend Red Pepper especially for good Sichuan food, this is a step up above your typical American Chinese fast food restaurant. One of my favorite restaurants in Worcester and go at least every other month.
If you like spice this is the place. I would reserve to get any fried dish like their amazing "L01 Deep fried chicken" for dine in only as they do loose their crisp if doing takeout.

Some of my favorite dishes so far:
- L7 Cumin lamb, L1 fried chicken, E7 shredded beef, J14 Hot beef noodle soup
- L14 mala pot (lots of seafood and good for several people)
Their spicy wontons are also incredible and quite spicy.
