Kraft Azalea Garden is a lovely park near the lake with many great places to take photos. There is a small parking area near the garden, and it is in a very nice neighborhood. The bonus when we visited was seeing white Egrets gathering materials for their nests and watching many of them roosting in trees near the park.
Dickson Azalea Park is a small but peaceful park. I wouldn't go out of my way to go; however, if in the area when the Azaleas are in bloom, it is worth a visit. Parking is limited.
On Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive one will see many types of waterfowl as well as alligators. On our 11 mile drive through the area we spotted 33 gators of different sizes in the water and on the banks near the water. There are areas to pull of and get out of your vehicle and we were able to get a closer look at some of the wildlife. The speed limit is 10 mph, so the drive with stops could take up to 2 hours.
While visiting our children in the area, we often go to Lowes in Kentlands Market Square to purchase items needed for home projects. It is convenient and there is plenty of parking.
We recently went to the Shamrock House for a family party. The event was located in a semi-private area (curtain separating us from the rest of the restaurant/bar). The food served on the buffet was very good. It was served by staff which made it very efficient going through the line. The Shamrock House is located right along the road; however, parking was somewhat limited.
