Girl on the Mosel

One of the best places to get steak in Kaiserslautern. The Ms. or Mr. Blockhouse steak has a nice crust finish and the medium is prepared exactly how a medium should be. Herb butter on the top adds to the already delicious flavor. You can get a baked potato as a side with sour cream and chives. They have a small selection of wine, but all very nice. Cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Know that this isn’t real Mexican food or even Tex-Mex. The food is very bland and not much flavor to it. The tables are squeezed in and it’s always pretty busy. The chips and salsa were a disappointment, more like store bought and stale. Even the “spicy” salsa didn’t have much flavor. The taco and enchilada both had some more seasoning but very small. All the people working were very friendly and our server was great! If I crave Mexican food again and don’t have time to cook it, would I go back? Yes, it’s definitely better than the other Mexican restaurants in the area.

We loved this pub so much we went back the next day for lunch! Table of 6 seated right away on a Sunday night. Many rounds of Guinness, baby Guinness, and a couple huge gin and tonics. The server, Sam, kept things coming out with a smile. He spent a lot of time talking with our table. On Monday, we went back for lunch. Amazing Irish coffee and burgers. We were seated in the back room, great decor and another super friendly server. And, when Sam came into work and saw us he immediately came over to say hi.

Wonderful rooftop bar with two levels overlooking the Barcelona Cathedral. Very friendly service, nice bottle of red wine and rose cava. We arrived about 9:00 PM and waited in line right outside of the hotel for about 10 minutes. Once allowed inside, we took the elevator to the 7th floor. There were tables on both levels for us to choose from. I recommend going at this time so you can see the views before it gets dark and then stay until everything is lit up. The bar closes at 11:00 PM.

I’ve heard wonderful things about this restaurant and have tried to go in the past, but it’s always been booked. We went right when it opened tonight and got a table outside. Prompt service. Ordered the tagliatelle rindfleisch and vegetarian pizza. The pasta and vegetables were delicious, but the steak was over cooked and this made the sauce a little on the greasy side. The pizza was a little bland. However, the place was packed by the time we left, so we will definitely try it again and order something different.
