Ipoh Tuck Kee Restaurant
2023 Dec 24
This Ipoh institution is no secret, always bustling with hungry people and a queue to match. But trust me, it's worth the wait! The food is both delicious and cheaps (a winning combo!), and the service is top-notch.
We dove into the iconic fried kuey teow with a raw egg, and it was pure magic – perfectly cooked noodles, smoky flavor, and that gooey yolk adding richness. And of course, the star of the show – the baby octopus! Tender, flavorful, and so addictive, we were reaching for more even before the last bite.
Even during peak hours, the cooking time was surprisingly fast. They've got this crowd-handling thing down to a science! No wonder it's one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Ipoh.
So, if you're looking for a delicious and efficient Ipoh experience, this restaurant is a must-try. Just be sure to bring your appetite and maybe a little patience for the queue. It's totally worth it!

Pros:
- Delicious food with a variety of menu options
- Excellent service
- Decent decorations
- Reasonable prices
- Fast cooking
Cons:
- Limited parking lot
- Only one shisha staff (but he is very nice, polite and good service)
Overall:
My favorite middle-east restaurant in Kuala Lumpur (or even Malaysia) has delicious food at reasonable prices, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing. The staff is friendly and attentive.
I appreciate the shisha guy who blows the dust inside the shisha bowl for you every time he comes to change the charcoal which helps the shisha last longer. This is a nice touch that ensures a smooth and enjoyable smoking experience.
I also like that the restaurant has decent decorations. This creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for dining.
I don’t recommend bringing your car here, not just this restaurant but this area is quite busy during the weekend, so it is hard to find a nearby parking lot.
PS. I don’t know if it 's normal or not but fajita here is quite salty compared to other restaurants.
