Sadly, we did not get the hype surrounding the burgers/food here like many have talked about. We were very excited to try this place out as we were craving a great burger and this place topped the lists we had seen. We went early in the evening on a weekday to avoid any major crowds and to capitalize on the half priced appetizers for happy hour. We tried the bang bang shrimp, cheese curds, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were soggy and unapealing, the cheese curds were fine but nothing special, and the shrimp had a soggy tasteless batter on them and were over sauced for our preference.
Now on to the main attraction....the burgers. My wife ordered the Salty Pear (medium) and it was a huge dissapointment. The description had our mouths watering but it ended up being mostly tasteless. We could not put our fingers on what was wrong but with all of the flavorful ingredients on it, it tasted bland at best. My burger choice was the wagyu Royale (medium rare). The plus to this was it was cooked to a beautiful mid rare which is a hats off to the kitchen. Sadly, it too was a bit underwhelming for the price. Flavors were mostly muted and nothing really stuck out as "fantastic." Honestly, the best part of either of our entrees was the Sweet Potato Waffle fries. Those were perfectly crispy and had a hint of sweetness and cinnamon that made them absolutely amazing. 10/10 on those! The truffle fried were fine, but nothing to write home about. The seasonal carrots were pretty well cooked and nice and sweet so we'd probably recommend those as well.
The ambiance was fine overall. A nice mid-range bar feel. the small/narrow shape of the bar though made it extremely loud even though it was about half full or just over. It was also very dimly lit and just felt crowded with how many tables they tried to squeeze in there.
Overall, we will not be returning as it just did not meet the hype/expectations of the "Best Burger" in town. It was a fine burger, but for the price and other drawbacks it was simply not worth the drive.
