Chula Island Camp
2022 Dec 30
About a 5ish minute walk to camp from the boat. The tents are bright and airy, bathrooms very inviting. I have no idea how they make such delicious food in the middle of the bush but food was amazing every meal. Robbie the GM was one of my favourite we had the pleasure of meeting. He sat with us one afternoon and talked about politics, religion, our cultures, geography etc. He was engaged, thoughtful and really made our experience memorable. Upon leaving, he also made sure we were fed and adjusted our departure to Royal airstrip due to the rains at Jeki. Even though it was the camps last day, he didn’t rush us out or make us feel like the camp was packing up. 10/10 for Robbie. In terms of game drives here, you have to take a 10-15 minute car ride to a canoe and cross the river. On the other side of the river is another vehicle which you will game drive in. They do not do game drives on the island and strictly leave it for walking safaris. Great experience and would recommend.
