Newton Bar

Well, I thought this was a very enjoyable cocktail bar - I had a Mojito and my husband had a Caipirinha; both had a generous pour and both were very tasty. I also had a non-alcoholic Ipanema which was incredibly refreshing. Service, like every place I've been so far in Berlin, was efficient and friendly. Yeah, it's a bit more expensive, but they give you your money's worth.

In spite of the huge crowds and scammers doing their annoying stuff, actually standing in the arena was amazing. Our guide was an archeologist who was knowledgeable and very passionate about the place. We took the underground tour, and it was appropriately creepy. I could almost hear the crowds cheering as they watched the brutal scenes unfolding before them. (I wasn't aware that the Colosseum presented spectacles 24 hours a day - the sheer scale of human/animal demise is inconceivable to my modern mind.) Absolutely overwhelming experience, the best part of the trip.

Came here because of Stanley Tucci's program "Searching for Italy." Beautiful, tranquil church off the beaten track - there were only two other people in the sanctuary with us. Definitely a plus not being around noisy crowds. Very much worth a detour.

I love history, and walking through the old parts of towns gives me a sense of bygone days. This district doesn't disappoint - beautiful old homes on quiet streets. Loved the varied architecture, and the people out in their yards were extremely friendly. A joy to visit.

Wonderful place to browse and drool over the various pieces. Too expensive for my pocketbook, but everyone was extremely friendly. Fun place to get out of the sun.
