Petticoat Lane Market

I found some wonderful items. Mostly clothing, shoes, and souvenirs. A good stop as a tourist or local. I travel lightly and like to pick up some items for my stay. Gloves and a hat and T-shirts for the kids back home.
Spencer House

It was wonderful to step back into history as the first Earl Spencer would have lived it. The restoration has been masterfully applied. The guide (Betty) was wonderful. She was knowledgeable on art, architecture, and history. It is well worth a visit if you are in London. It is located by St James Palace, so you could visit Buckingham Palace and The Horses Guard as well. It is only open on Sunday, so some planning is required. Do book ahead.
The Wallace Collection

It is one of the best art collections in London. The only disappointment is that The Laughing Cavalier is out on loan and not expected back for a year. The good thing previously about Wallace was they weren't able to loan paintings as part of the bequest, but somehow they've gotten around it, and now paintings may or may not be there for your visit. Anyhow, its a lovely collection and we'll worth a visit. There is a cafe, but don't expect much. There is a cloak room downstairs. Access is pretty good. Go to Daunt Books after your visit. There is also a great Oxfam shop on the way.
Mount Stromlo Observatory

We finally made it here only to find it derelict and closed. It's such a shame. We were looking forward to this so much after wanting to come for some time. Also, this was the only place to get a cup of tea around here. Now there's nothing.
Armory Wharf Cafe

My food was very nice. The staff were accommodating. The tea was average, but at least it was tea leaves and not a bag, though the pot I had was dodgy, and the leaves spilled I to my cup. It was quickly replaced with a fresh new pot, so there were no dramas. Great spot overlooking the river. The best thing is you can walk off your food afterwards by going for a lovely walk along the trail.
