This is a feeder trail to the main tunnels trail that runs from the Lake Mead Visitor Center to the Hoover Dam - very useful if you're staying at the hotel, but not really a shortcut because it adds a pretty stark elevation at the beginning/end of your hike. Regardless, it's a decent alternative to parking at the Lake Mead Visitor Center.
This museum is tinyyyy (the gift shop is probably bigger than the museum), but interesting given the rich rail culture of SF. There's also a model railcar that's pretty cool for pictures 📸.
Great state park with fantastic views of the saddleback butte as well as an awesome paved trail with an interpretive guide that leads you through the history and the ecology of the park. Was very pleasantly surprised by the well-kept nature of the park, as well as the numerous covered picnic areas, and well researched pamphlets that give you a really good feel for this state park. Living in LA, had never heard of this place, but so glad that I decided to stop by - and will be coming again soon. Also lots of really interesting Joshua trees, creosote bushes, and yucca night lizards!
Nice loop trail with plenty of parking that's not too difficult and with really great views of downtown LA. Loop is about 2.5 miles so you can complete it comfortably within an hour. Saw lots of wildflowers including a lot of black mustard and a couple impressive hawks. Most of the hikers wore masks, too.

Nice historic building in downtown San Fernando. The structure is adobe - which was invented by indigenous Californians - and the style is nouveau American/Mexican-Spanish Colonial (the building was constructed in 1882 - California became part of the US in 1850). But the mixture of styles is what makes the structure so interesting.

Pleasant garden nearby with bathrooms, which are now closed.
