Sushi Restaurant Saya

I visited Saya on their first ramen day in June, on which they did put out 100 bowls of shoyu ramen. No reservations possible on that day, no sushi.
I loved how the ramen broth turned from clear at the surface to cloudy the deeper I looked. All the toppings were really enjoyable and rather delicate in taste. Nothing was too overpowering. And the noodles were just chewy, bouncy goodness that I hope that they will consider introducing 'kadema' (noodle top-up) during their next ramen days. The only thing I'd have loved a little differently was the egg, which lacked that signature waxiness.
I am in love though and will try to come back again for one of their next ramen days to have more of this crafted goodness.
Thank you so very much for a wonderful lunch.

Fantastically entertaining kushiage omakase dinner in wonderful company on my first night out in Berlin.
The 'few' kushi that I remember include prawn, ginko nuts, quail eggs, chicken breast, scallops, shiitake, miso eggplant, cheese, veal filet, pork tenderloin, duck breast, lotus root, salmon and egg tofu.

A colleague and I came here for lunch on our never ending quest for decent Asian food in Freiburg. The setting is quite nice, the service fast, attentive and efficient yet not overly welcoming or warm. The huge menu had a dim sum section which we focused on today. My favorites were the xiao long bao here, they had quite thick but delicious skin, a drop of soup inside and a nicely spiced farce. My colleague also ordered some fried items like shrimp springrolls and from that I liked the triangle beef curry puffs the most. If you want something (e.g. black vinegar for your dumplings) just ask, they were nice enough to bring us everything (if they had it) and I heard they even do some off menu dishes.
Update: Went back today, unfortunately they didn't have off menu dan dan mian but the guotie and chashu baozi where nice.

Always thought this is just a cheap sushi and probably mediocre sushi place but today I learned how good their food is. My freshly prepared to order fish bento was really tasty with a small selection of nigiri sushi and maki, crunchy edamame, cucumber sesame salad and thin slices of sweety glazed teriyaki salmon on rice. Nice people work here too.

The lady opened up early for me today so I could get to the vegetables and herbs that I need for my new year's eve dinner. Super friendly stay and well sorted shop with a broad variety of sauces, frozen, fresh and preserved goods. Even kitchenware.
