Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour
2023 Dec 31
I went on this tour once, many, many ... many years ago. I loved it the first time, but it's more fun to go with friends or family. One of my good friends and I went on the tour just before New Year's Eve. She was catching a bus into the city, and I took the ferry, so we didn't buy tickets ahead of time because the transportation isn't always on time. We were thrilled to learn they had walk-up tickets available for the next tour, and the wait was only 25 minutes! You can buy tickets online on their website. We widow-shopped around Pioneer Square until it was time. They have public restrooms that you can use before and after the tour, very helpful! There's even a bar where the tour starts. It wasn't open when we went. The tour was very informative and so much fun! Our tour guide Andie was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and funny! I have trouble hearing people speak in large groups, but her voice was strong and clear, so I got to hear everything! The tour company rents the underground route and they are the only reason the area is preserved. I highly recommend visiting and donating to keep this amazing part of Seattle's history alive!
Chance A La Mer Beach Access
2019 Apr 04
Beautiful beach access with free parking and restrooms! You can drive out past the sign down a short access road and onto the beach itself. Be careful to know the tide and not go too close to the shore. There was a truck that drove the beach with a sign on the door that said they would tow cars. There was also a group that did horse rides on the beach for one hour at $25 per person.
