Botanic Garden

I visited the gardens one wet and windy afternoon, taking someone I am carer for. We had difficulty in accessing the entrance because someone we work with gave us the wrong postcode (for the park and ride car park behind the gardens). The entrance to the gardens there was closed but on pressing the intercom, someone let us in.

We went to the pay desk which I'd also the cafe and the staff there were lovely. The weather was awful so we enjoyed tea and teacakes first. Nice little cafe area with plenty of seating. The staff were very kind to the young girl we had took who has additional needs.

The gardens themselves will be lovely in Warner weather and there is plenty to see. Sculptures, bamboo groves, tropical greenhouse etc. We will be back.
Lovely impromptu visit when fossil hunting near Scarborough. Only £3 admission which lasts a year and gives you access to the art gallery as well. Great little museum with friendly staff and really interesting talks with the volunteers. Special thanks go to Aeron and Richard for their passion and knowledge.
Been here twice now. It’s not glitzy or glamorous like some of the others on Stowell street, but it’s authentic and very reasonably priced. Both times I have been it’s been full of Chinese people, so that’s a good sign. Always go where the locals go! There are a few different menus, one is very authentic and offers traditional foods like chicken feet, custard buns etc. and is very cheap. I chose the British version - 3 courses for £12! Cheaper than my takeaway! If you’re not fussed about decor or a speedy service and want cheap, decent food- you cannot go wrong here.
Parking in the multi story directly opposite. Lift up to restaurant and specious for wheelchairs.
First time here. Came to enjoy a walk in our lovely countryside and some fresh air and it didn’t disappoint. Ample parking, some signposted trails and a few large bird watching hides dotted around the lake. (Large enough for a small group of 6-8 people). There’s a visitor’s centre and cafe too. Sadly didn’t have time to visit the cafe but used their loo and bought an ice lolly. £2.90 for a Magnum is a bit steep but it is what it is. Will definitely go back and try the cafe which comes recommended by my work colleague.
