ASDA Cafe

Friendly staff and adequate food. Good to see the offers available for OAPs and kids. Cafe is spacious with nice tables and big windows to let the light in. I went for the £5 pizza+chips+drink offer which was yum. One of the better supermarket cafes around.
Thames Beach

Okay beach is pushing it a little. Yes there is sand but it’s had to the place to come sunbath and make a sandcastle. The tide comes is and covers the beach twice a day. If taking kids make sure they are supervised as it’s not particularly clean. Step access down to the beach from Gabriel’s wharf
Ashmolean Museum

Free to enter. It’s kinda half museum and half art gallery. Lots to see across 5 floors and a cafe and gift shop too. Some interesting local finds as well as the usual Egyptian, Ancient Greek and Roman swag. Good way to spend an hour with the kids. You have to carry rucksacks in your hand, not on your back, presumably so you don’t swing round and knock over the priceless ming vase!
South Bank Lion
2024 Jan 14
The South Bank Lion is a sculpture of a lion that was made in 1837 by William Frederick Woodington. It is made of Coade stone, a type of artificial stone that is very durable and resistant to weathering. The lion was originally part of the Lion Brewery on the South Bank of the River Thames, but was moved to its current location next to County Hall in 1966. The lion is a significant symbol of London, along with the four lions that surround Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square
Well maintained play equipment. Mostly suitable for younger year children 2-8
