The new Airport complex has a multilevel parking as in malls and has a skybridge connecting to the departure terminal. This is very convenient now. The terminal visitor waiting space has a lot more to improve. It doesn't match up to an international airports ambience. Seating facilities, food n snack counters, water points are rare, one has to walk to the domestic terminal to reach a coffee counter. Passenger assistance booths are set up like sim card selling booths. During the evenings sunlight falls directly over the western seating area. The western side has to be shaded pertaining to temperatures in chennai. Metrorail is well connected through another skybridge. It also has an in-house mall complex housing a PVR multiscreen theatre.
