Unique and beautiful building that aims to lighten up the inside feel of a gorgeous couple art galleries.

I stopped in just for a short visit, but appreciated the installations and historical artifacts along with many “interactive” exhibits. My favorite gallery featured nothing short of an amazing display of the Lummi People and their way of life here in the PNW for the last thousands of years. If you want to understand the tribal significance to the region, this is a great place to start.

Love that a ticket here also grants entry to the Whatcom Museum just 2 blocks away.
Gregorys Coffee

100% on my fav coffee shop list. This place has a whole cold brew menu and it rocks. Personally would recommend the salted caramel option, especially during fall. It hits the spot as the temps start to cool off but it’s not too cold for iced drinks.

Overall, cute shop and good brew.
Really liked it here! Vietnamese driven, with some other well known Asian dishes, and all of it was good. We enjoyed shrimp rolls, eggs rolls, and a couple bowls of pho. We’ve already discussed coming back to try more of the food. Everything was just really solid.

Only downside was the weird, cold peanut “spread” (it wasn’t really a sauce) that came with the shrimp roll. It wasn’t bad, but it’s nothing like peanut sauce I’ve had anywhere else.

Staff was quick, prices were fair, and it’s relatively easy to park nearby.
Potbelly

Solid lunch stop! Brought my fiancé here when we were visiting salt lake. Potbelly exists where I’m from, but not for him!

We loved the service and loved the food. It’s extremely fairly priced. Know that there’s not a whole bunch of options, but everything is customizable and it’s pretty good. Staff was friendly and quick to help up.

Overall, a great experience and would recommend to locals and travelers alike.
Tacos El Gordo

As much of a “dive” you can ask for in the downtown/Gaslamp part of SD!

This place is simple… they have 3-4 meat choices and a few things you can order with those meats. Line chefs put your food together right in front of you & send you on! Even on a busy night, it takes just a couple minutes.

And the food was amazing! Clearly made with love for tacos. Amen & hallelujah.

I totally get the hype behind this local corner shop & will pass along the recommendation to anyone in the area! Stop here, even if it’s just one taco. It’ll make your San Diego experience better.
