To avoid the long queues, we decided to apply for the bar’s VIP card. While my application was swiftly accepted, my husband’s, bearing an Arabic name, was inexplicably rejected. Suspecting an unfair bias, he reapplied using a distinctly French name and was immediately approved. This stark contrast in response was not just shocking but deeply concerning.
This experience casts a shadow on our perception of the bar. It’s disheartening to encounter such apparent discrimination, especially in a place that’s supposed to be inclusive and welcoming. While the bar’s ambiance and offerings might be appealing, such incidents raise serious questions about its commitment to equality and respect for all patrons.
