Well worth a visit (or two) when in Salzburg. Leave plenty of time since we arrived at the end of the day and had less than an hour but easily could have spent 2-3
Museum is 1.3 km long divided in EG floor for baroque Halls and beautiful interior decorations, OG1 for museum shop and painting exhibitions of artists, Cathedral treasury, artifacts, visit of upper floor and organ of the Cathedral with outside view from the Terrasse till the end level of St. Peter's museum. all with 13€/adult.
Una vera gemma a Vienna che da la possibilità ad artisti di esporre la loro arte in una galleria nel cuore di Vienna.
Long and interesting route through the museum. Definitely worth it.
Worth a visit.
Very good audio guide( included )
You will not only see lots of beautiful rooms
but different private art/curiosities collections.
As well will pass through Cathedral, the second just next to the organ.
Unexpectedly amazing! I don't know if ot was special or it's always like this, but we got a tour around all the buildings including Dom itself!
Fascinating palace with some stunning rooms. The audio guide was definitely necessary otherwise I would have missed a lot of interesting points. The exhibition and cathedral were also well worth seeing. It is very big, so a lot of walking around but enjoyable nonetheless.
I was just inside and I asked the woman inside about a black leather bag. I examined the bag for a while and was about to ask the latest brand, but she asked me if I could take it back in a harsh and very rude way! I don't understand why such people (she was a blonde) do a job they don't like! Moreover, after taking the bag, she was once again rude by pulling the bag towards himself! As if I were going to steal it😆😉 that is so rude from you , girl!
It's a really cool place and all. I like how cozy the place is. People behind the bar are very friendly. Awesome atmosphere. Just wasn't a fan of the pizza menu. It's all vegan. The dough was perfect. The layering wasn't though 😞. Cheese tastes like nothing. It's sad and I wish they'd offer more options on the menu than just vegan pizzas.
Bin extra von Dortmund hier hin um den besten Pop-up Store Wiens zu besuchen
Interesting place, I went to an Austellung there. The cellar party room should have more ventilation as it has a strong smell of damp/mould and also the staircase down to it needs to be replaced as it seems to be a potential fire hazard.
A worthy museum! It is not just one, but four! You get to see the rooms where the Prince Archbishops lived, the art gallery, the Cathedral, and more! The audioguide is free, and highly recommended! You can easily spend a few hours there. There is also a balcony that overlooks the main square, so it is possible to order a cup of coffee and have a break.
An easily overlooked stop. It includes the Archbishop’s palace (including the room where Mozart gave his first concert as a child), a small art museum, tours of the treasuries of Salzburg cathedral and St Peter’s. Very much worth it.
We reserved slots for the guided tour (DomQuartier Führung) via their official website template and then email. While it added a small add-on amount to the entry tickets, it was absolutely worth it.

The guide explained and pointed us towards things we would have absolutely missed in the museums & gallery view of the cathedral. She also showed us sections of the residence that wouldn't be open to visit otherwise. The guide was so nice and answered all our questions; at the end of the tour we felt we had seen the highlights and could move forwards to exploring the historical centre and go to a concert. It was a pleasure!
Beautiful museum, and amazing view. You can spend your whole day here just watching the roof and the painting. You have audio guide here, but unfortunately not Hungarian. But with the English one everything also clear.
With Salzbueg Card it is also free to enter so it is also a good point.
I think the only problem was: the emptiness of the rooms. There were big rooms with almost nothing in them just a big empty space.
But in the end, I had a great time here.
Interesting museum with different art pieces. Tour went through the terrace with nice view on the city, and nearby cathedral's organ, which you cannot access otherwise. Free access with Salzburg card.
Sehr interessantes Konzept. Ein Muss für alle Kunstliebhaber und auch für zufällige Passanten.
Great gallery in a beautiful part of town. Offers an eclectic mix of local and international artists. One of a kind in Vienna, a must-see.
I came to the museums only to see the gallery. I asked before I bought the ticket if it was the ticket for the "4 museums" to which the vendor replied yes. Once I got to the entrance of the gallery, I was informed the gallery is closed for renovations. No offer of a refund or anything, just a simple "sorry and I'll tell the person downstairs to inform people". Even now the gallery is marked as open on the website and Google maps. Huge waste of time and money.
In my opinion the best urban art gallery in Vienna. Go there whenever I'm in town, definitely worth a visit. Paintings come from talented artists around the world, the emotions and colors depicted draw you in every time.
De las mejores galerías que hay Viena, con artistas de todo el mundo. No puedo esperar a ver con que nueva exposición me van a sorprender!!
Great theater space, kind hearted friendly people and oriental feelings. Great night to spend.
beautiful space and gallery with lovely people running it!
I had the great pleasure of meeting the owner Howie and friends on New Year's Eve! My brother and I were welcomed and enjoyed a great night of dancing and discussion. Thank you so much!
Beautiful space, wonderful atmosphere. Very warm and welcoming. Thanks for having us Howie!
Great improv shows, friendly atmosphere and staff.
Rezidenzgalerie or Salzburg Galerie is a must! The tour takes you through the sumptuous prince-archbishops apartments with their beautiful tapestries, murals and furniture , galleries of magnificent paintings, back in the history where you meet the rulers of Salzburg and admire amazing objects and find out about their manufacturers.
Astonishing, this is the word to define Rezidenzgalerie.
Very extensive so a long walk. Audio tours are available.
Lovely venue and art space. Cute theatre with a bar and a gallery area.
Available for rentals for performances, events, exhibition and just for parties.

Owners are lovely people, booze is cheap and plentiful.

English / German / Arabic / Turkish spoken.
I love to pop by AG18 Gallery every now and then. The exhibitions on display there are always interesting to explore. And it’s so nice to be greeted warmly every time I walk in!
Ausstellung Bilderbuch
Beautiful museum within the archibishop princes palace. The rooms are gorgeous baroque with nothing to envy to Versailles palace. Look the the ceiling stuccos, the ceramic stubes (heating stoves), the gorgeous tapestries and decorations. The audioguide is actually very well done, and if you have time it is worth visiting the museum fully and listen to everything (it would take around two hours). There is also a gallery through the upper part of the cathedral, a terrace overlooking the city as well as some beautiful paintings and artifacts displayed. Definitely worth a visit!
The collection of the house includes European painting from the 16th to the 19th century. Focal points are the Dutch painting of the 17th, Italian, French and Austrian paintings of the 17th and 18th as well as Austrian masterpieces of the 19th century.

The Residenzgalerie Salzburg was opened in 1923. It was founded in the first years after the end of the monarchy and was to perform several functions: Replacement of the archiepiscopal art collections lost after the Napoleonic turmoil in the early nineteenth century, study collections in view of the (subsequently unrealized) project on the Establishment of an art academy; Last but not least, a motive for the new foundation was the promotion of tourism, as an additional cultural attraction in addition to the Salzburg Festival.

A peculiarity of the founding of the museum was that the Residenzgalerie Salzburg did not own a single work of art and was exclusively equipped with loans. Until the house was closed after 1938, the museum had purchased just over 30 works of art.

The reopening took place on 3 August 1952. In a very short time, the focus of the collection shifted to the field of painting of the 16th - 20th century.
After the land of Salzburg in 1980 for the art of the 20th century. a private house, the Rupertinum set up, gave the Residenzgalerie Salzburg this museum all stocks of the 20th century and limited their collection activity on European works until the end of the 19th century.
The most significant collection of paintings in the province of Salzburg are the works from the former Czernin Collection in Vienna, acquired by the gallery between 1956 and 1991.

The collection Czernin in Vienna went back to the collecting activity of Johann Rudolf Count Czernin between 1800 and 1845. Czernin was born in Vienna in 1757, studied law at the University of Salzburg - the Salzburg Archbishop Hieronymus Graf Colloredo was related to him - and spent most of his life in Vienna. Characteristic of his artistic interest is the fact that he was president of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1823 to 1827 and from 1824 presided over the imperial collections. Main works of his collection: Vermeer's "artist in his studio" (Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna), Titian's portrait of Doge Gritti and Dürer's men's portrait (both in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC) were sold before 1955.

The majority of the paintings presented today in the Residengzalerie Salzburg are owned by the Province of Salzburg. The collection is supplemented by loans from Austrian museums, private property and the Private Art Collection.

The gallery is located in the east wing of the Salzburg Residenz and above the Bel Etage. The building dates back to around 1600, the stucco ceilings in the northern gallery rooms were commissioned by Archbishop Franz Anton Fürst Harrach, who used these rooms as an audience and living room. At the end of the 18th century, the floor under Archbishop Hieronymus Graf Colloredo was used for the first time to set up the archbishop's collection of paintings. This connection to Salzburg's history was an essential aspect of the construction of the museum in Salzburg.
Bought tickets to Dom Quartier, but was not warned that it closes at 5pm. We got there at 3.30pm, but the museums are really large and takes more than 2 hours to cover fully. Although there were many staff standing around, they did not inform us that the museum was closing soon. When we enquired about the locked door on first floor, the front desk told us it was closing in 2 min. Very friendly when we were purchasing the tickets but not so friendly at the end. Such a pity...
A nice museum, situated in a fitting environment.
Spannende Ausstellungen von jungen Künstlern, hat mir sehr gut gefallen
super beratung, alles top
A Cafe / Bar with an attached theater stage where a big variation of events take place. I was there during the Viennese poetry slam semi-finals, which gave a wonderful experience! My only critisism is that the backroom heats up to unbearable temperatures, if many people are attending. Definitly try the homemade lemonade (sold in a big bottle)!
