Reviews

Best indian / vegetarian food in Brussels! Whenever I’m craving Indian, I get Chilli Grill 😊 Not the cosiest place to sit however, so I would recommend take out.
The atmosphere is quite dull. Place smells like it's opened after many days. Food was okay but didn't like it. I went there after reading the reviews but i was not able to connect the place with the good reviews. Moreover, in the end when I asked for the bill so the person told me the prices didn't include the tax. And you need to pay extra if you want to pay tax. It happened to me for the first time after I came to Europe. I wouldn't recommend the place.

Edit: Answer to the Owner's reply:
First of all, we paid 16 Euros and we were 2 person. You didn't even remember who we were. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and 2 Nans. I didn't mention it earlier but the gravy of Paneer tikka masala was not at all fresh and had a stale taste. You thought you heat the food with butter/ Oil and all the stale taste would be gone and no one was going to know. But that was not the case with us. We were not able to order more food because of the smell in the atmosphere of the restaurant and the bad food. Moreover, no one eats your food. That's why you choose to give away food to poor people. But don't you think giving bad food away is not a good deed and it can make poor people sick. Thank you for welcoming us again. But we will never come back.
Delicious food, excellent service, and friendly staff
Good food at the cheapest price. I tried their veg non veg thali. Would recommend you to try. Very friendly people.

Important note: They prefer cash over card to minimize immediate tax. So try to bring cash if you can.
I have visited often to many pakistani and indian restaurants for having meal or get together with friends for dinner but when i visited here first of all i got shocked how they cook with professional skills and with aroma of pakistani indian flavours. The food was super delicious and the meal was also cooked very well and tasty . they use fresh ingredients every time in cooking. that's the reason the ranking of this restaurant is on the top not for cheap meal but for the quality it's on the peak 👌
Absolutely love this place. The food is delicious. The owner prepares the food with fresh ingredients and the service is quick. Very flavorful food with many veggie options. Great service. And definitely possible to pay by card.
The only reason my rating isn't lower is because the owner did the delivery and apologized on behalf of his rude employee. I ordered via Takeaway and after 1h I called the place to check up on my order. She reassured me that the delivery guy was on his way. When I called back about 15-20 minutes later (mind you the restaurant is not too far from my place) she was extremely rude stating that she sent the delivery guy from takeway on his way already half an hour earlier so this is not her problem. Very unprofessional and extremely rude! They lost a customer. The owner however is a nice man that apologized on her behalf and also debunked her lies. He only left the restaurant 10 mins prior he said. I'd reconsider my staff choice if I were him. If this is how she treats customers, there won't be many left soon ... anyways the food itself was decent, especially the lamb korma and the pakistani appetizers I got. I've had better chicken tikka masala. Thanks to the owner for being professional and decent.
Very taste Food and good service what else you want ✌🏻
100% recommend
Halal Food
I had been there last week and the food was utter waste with no proper service(waiting period of 45 mins). The charges are too high for the dishes with no quality and quantity.

I'd recommend not to visit this restaurant at any case unless you don't find food anywhere in the world.
We ordered custom food and they made it for us which was really nice of them. Apart from that nothing was good. The food itself was way too oily, and the dal was very dry. We also ordered rice and couldn't eat it as well because of excise oil. The service was very poor and there was a power shortage itself while we were eating. Definitely not worth it.
Good food and friendly service at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the vegetable curry and the naan was very tasty.
So delicious! More than expectation. Very Indian traditional style, we like the food very much. You can see the last picture that we eat all! Highly recomended to others who have intetresting with Indian food especially the galic Nan.
This was a real success! Everyone was very pleased and the staff was very friendly. Cheap wine(very good value)!!! I got to talk about my India experience at length, nice!
My girlfriend and I ate there on Friday evening. The food was really good and the service is amazing, they were so kind . Definitely recommend. We’ll come back!
Awesome place with delicious food and very good service
Must visit place if you are craving for Pakistani/indian food
I've been a loyal customer of my favorite Indo-Pak cuisine in Brussels! It has been seven years now, and every visit has been an absolute delight. Their vegetarian options are truly outstanding, and I've had the pleasure of introducing many friends to their exceptional non-vegetarian dishes, all of which they've loved. This restaurant is a must-visit; it has a warm, family-like atmosphere, and the recent renovation has only added to the overall experience. And, last but not least, the owners and everyone there are truly lovely and make you feel very welcome!
Ordered lamb korma and I'm not sure if these people have ever had real indian food before. It was artificially yellow and tasted like mango lassi. What? I've never ever in my life had such SWEET bad tasting curry. Couldn't eat it, only picked out the lamb pieces. Sorry.
Tasty food. Feels healthy. Ok portions: not too big, not too small. A lot of space. Stable chairs and tables. Not too loud music. Could be cheaper in my opinion in comparison with an average Indian restaurant, but ok if you compare with other cafes in the district
The food tasted average and too sweet. They seem to put in the same masala mix in each dish.
Unfortunately I’ve had to give it a rating of 1 star as the after effects of eating this food has caused everyone to have an upset stomach which I myself am still recovering from. In my opinion some of the food was probably reheated.

The atmosphere was nothing to talk about as it was a small sized restaurant and seemed to have a make shift office occupy one of the tables with paper and boxes strewn everywhere and a phone constantly ringing so loud.

The service was average, they forgot to give a salt lassi. One redeeming feature is they did provide a friendly and helpful demeanour when they did serve us.

Such a review is meant to provide honest and genuine feedback so that improvements can be made.
Best restaurant in town … The owner was super nice .. he make us feel so special and the food was super yummy !!! Highly recommended. We came from Canada and our expectations were met.
Amazed by the food choices Nawaab has to offer for buffet. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious, warm and fresh. They have Chicken biryani, Lamb/Chicken Qorma, chicken tikka/seekh kebab, wings, Aloo Gobi (Potato cauliflower), Palak paneer (Spinach cheese), fresh baked Naan and many more! Good Salad bar, chutneys, Pakoras too!
Worth the money.
Although wished they served Gulaab Jamun!
The food was amazing perfect especially the chicken tikka massala, garlic nun also very fluffy. Atmospher was okay but not much that stands out, service was also really good and the staff were very polite
Small, cozy restaurant with backyard Garden. Tasty food, also good choices for vegetarians, friendly service and fair prices. Will come back.
I had a truly disappointing experience with the mixed spicy grill platter I ordered for takeout from this place. Despite the promising ambiance and our patient wait in their garden, the portion size was shockingly small and it appeared as if someone had already eaten a portion of the kebab, as it was poorly cut. . To make matters worse, the food lacked any spices, was incredibly bland, and didn't even arrive hot. It felt like they simply reheated it in a microwave. This was, without a doubt, the worst 25€ I've ever spent on a grill platter. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this restaurant in the future.
I've been ordering from here for years and have never been disappointed! I'm a bit surprised seeing the other reviews. I always order chicken vindaloo and it's delicious!
The chicken biryani was very good
The tandoori butter chicken was too sweet for me , im not sure uf it supposed to be this sweet, they changed it for me ti be less sweet, nan is excellent , shkh kebab 👌
the service was excellent.💖
Me and my son had a great experience there yesterday evening! Amazing vegetarian menu, lovely service, authentic food and an adorable quirky owner who truly cares about his guests and the quality of his meals! Will go back for sure!!!
The food was delicious, the portions were great and the service very attentive. The mango lassi drink could be a starter itself… so good.
Update - 1. They don't accept Cards. As mentioned by the owner, that machine was not working, so please be ready with cash else and ask the owner before ordering it.
2. Please ask for the original bill, not a simple handwritten paper bill.
So called Indian Pakistani Restaurant. The food was good. Tea was tasty. Atmosphere or sitting area, I can say it is not so good. They have huge fan base of their taste, so they should upgrade it.
We tried Papri Chaat, Samosa Chaat, Karahi Paneer, and Saag. Samosa Chaat and Papri Chaat was good but Saag was not up to the mark. If you are habitual to Indian restaurants, you may feel the difference. People recommended or reviewed on Google for best taste and authentic dishes, but I think if you have so much craving of Indian food. You may visit once but not every time. For the first time customer, Taste is OK, not so great as suggested by Google Review. If you are vegetarian pls take care of yourself. They have a single kitchen for Veg and Non-Veg both.

PS : It's honest feedback based on our experience last Saturday.
I love Indian food and wherever I am I try to find a restaurant. Here at Shezan in Brussels I found the best so far. What makes it so fantastic

Atmosphere: the restaurant is very nice furnished and decorated. The whole setup of the restaurant gives you a very comfortable feeling. It is vey clean and the background music absolutely comforting.

Service: the service is outstanding. The staff is extraordinary friendly and absolutely professional.
It can be compared with the staff of a fib eine gourmet restaurant if you know what I am talking about.

Food quality: the most Importabgabe thing, the food, is incredible and outstanding.

Prize: very reasonable absolutely top

Resume: one of the best Indian food restaurants I’ve ever been.

If I could I would add a 6th star
Great place to be! I always look forward to coming to this place! Very cozy yet classy! I went there Saturday with my family and three little kids. The youngest was crying and had tantrums, and the weighter kept assuring me that I didn't need to stress about it. He even took the little baby in his arms! The food was delicious and fingerlicking! You won't regret coming to this place! Greetings from Yasmina (wife of sofiane)
I think overall my Tikka Masala was lacking that depth of Indian flavours that we all like so much! Unfortunately the butter naan was a little bit soggy due to the delivery I Guess however it was cheaper than the average Indian restaurant.
Ordered Butter Chicken and Madras Chicken. They options to either have it with rice or naan, which is already a plus.
Portion was a bit small, but THE BEST BUTTER CHICKEN I've ever tried!!
The staff was friendly, but the place was a bit to crowded for us. Tables are so close that we could hear our fellow countryman, let's call him Jan, was talking to his wife or girlfriend about the price of every dish (how come I always feel embarrassed when that happens)...
The food was okay, I had better Indian food to be honest, but it was value for money.
I have never in my life been made fun of by the restaurant staff, unbelievable. I asked them to put more spice on my plate and they put so much that I couldn't even eat it.

The waiters looked at me laughing because they knew they had put a lot of spice, much more than normal. I hope they had fun with me, I won't come back and I will certainly not recommend it to anyone.
Good food, kind service, nice sunny garden
I ordered a butter chicken with naan. The butter chicken had nothing to do with an actual butter chicken dish, except that there was chicken inside. All typical spices in the dish were missing. It was neither spicy not it tasted delicious. The mango lassi I ordered was fine and the service speed not excellent, but still fine.
A printed check I just received after he realized that I need the check.
We ordered 4x Butter Chicken, 11 Garlic Naan bread and 1x Korma. The food arrived late, very late more than 30 minutes after the advertised delivery time.

They delivered a wrong order 4x Chicken Tikka Masala and the food was tasteless. The Naan bread was not done, but raw.

We called the restaurant and their excuse was our order was “late”. We ordered at 20.00 local time. If it was too busy they shouldn’t accept the order.
Lamb curry was good, all other curry we ordered has too sweet.. nan were perfect. Its a clean simple deco restaurant and friendly staff
Newly renovated and expansion of space, this makeover was a pleasant surprise! Been to the resto before the remodelling as well. Food is very good. Taste buds never disappointed. The boneless chicken tikka is so good. Simple dish yet complex in flavour. It’s my go to when I go there. The chicken tikka masala is quite nice. They can make their dishes from mild to spicy. Appreciate the flexibility. Kind and friendly service. Definitely recommend this place for really good Indian cuisine. Added plus is it’s open on Sundays for lunch!
Just ordered & received 1 x Lamb Dhansak & 1 x Lamb Jhai frezi - and we couldn't tell the difference? This is the first time I have ever had a non-sweet, tasteless Dhansak- it will also be the last. I ordered late & I get the feeling it was just thrown together - nothing marinated, some of the lentils a little hard ... last time ordering here, VERY disappointed.
Family-owned, health-conscious, very reasonably priced especially for the abundant portions, kind owners and absolutely authentic. A must for a trip to Brussels. Try the Samosa Plate and anything Karachi.
Best Indian food !! Everything was amazing, the restaurant and the food.
You should try it
I had high hopes with the spicy in the name but the food was quite sweet even when we had asked for spicy. The portions were also small for the high-priced menu..eg the shiek kebab in picture for 8€ looked like a single piece cut in half...thats too much!!. we ordered two three items and the bill came for 45€..
The pro was that service was friendly and quick...and quite pretty looking food!(taste is a different scene)
Very tasty spread, everything is really good. My personal favorites are their fish pakora, chicken qorma and chicken briyani. Their fish pakora is really out of this world. They have 3 types of dessert that was included in the buffet, you have to request from the waiter and they will bring it to your table. The rest of the food are walking buffet. Nice deco and clean toilet. We will definitely come back again.
Visiting from Rotterdam.

In the time from when we ordered to when we got the main course we could have driven back to Rotterdam, ordered from our local indian restaurant and driven back and still had time to spare.

When the food finally arrived, I was worried I had covid again as I could not taste anything. However, my family assured me in good confidence that their food was also tasteless. (My test thankfully came back negative, so the food was that unremarkable that my taste buds neglected to accept the food's existance).

We actually concluded that the most tasteful thing about this restaurant was not in fact the food, but their lampshades (pictured) (that if you come to this place, you will realize is a low bar as they are made out of discoloured shells that look like rotting teeth from afar).

I didn't think my cooking was very good, this restaurant has given me the confidence to realize that my cooking isn't that bad after all. The only good thing out of this experience was that in the future i can tell my kids about this place and use it as a deterrent that if they misbehave, they will be taken to Garden of India in Antwerpen for their birthday meal.

Do not come.
The worst Indian food I have ever tasted. The lamb in coconut milk was so sweet it is inedible and the “sauce” looks like pure coconut milk poured in with added sugar…. No body to it. Paratha is dark brown and unappetising…. Never will order or go there again and don’t recommend!
A very nice restaurant if you want to enjoy some Indian food. The taste is as close to authentic as you can get here in Antwerp. They have a big choice of menu. The best part is their buffet, you can eat as much as you want and all for €18. It's a very good deal. Must try for sure.
Mumtaz is a good place for Indian food, both if you want the classics or if you want something a little different. They don't take credit card and they aren't super fast, but the food is good and the prices reasonable. The vegetarian selection was nice and I recommend the paneer with peas. Choose the Nepalese chicken if you want something completely different from what you are used to.
The food tastes good, but I was missing the typical, authentic, intense spice flavor of the Indian cuisine. The sauce of the tikka masala wasn’t bad, but it tasted too sweet and really flat. However, the amount of chicken that you get is disappointing. My köfte curry contained WAY TOO MUCH oil (see picture). But the naan bread with butter was excellent, though. Lastly, the prices are okay and the delivery was fast.
Incredible disappointment with the few amount of chicken Korma, it was more a soup of sauce than an actual chicken meal. This looks like an appetizer other than a main dish. I'm still hungry. Plus the taste was not the best for being Indian... Wouldn't recommend
Nice restaurant with a big buffet of different appetizers, fried starters, meats, vegetables and different flavours of rice for only €17,95 per head. There is a lot to choose from and the prices are very decent. They have a menu card a well, in case you don't like the buffet or you want something additionally. The staff is friendly and the place looks clean as well.
Place was good., good environment, staff was friendly but not so good food. Food was hot and mostly fresh but not tasty. If you are hungry and other restaurants of halal food are far away then you can go there. But 16 euro for buffet its just ok.
We trusted the high ratings and the pictures seemed to match. BIG MISTAKE! The restaurant is actually Indian-Pakistani, not Indian and the taste of the food shows that. We ordered Paneer and all of us thought that it was store bought (the whole thing, gravy too) and so did the Naan. Uploaded are photos of the path to the bathroom to wash your hands. Only the eating area is lush, nowhere else. Not recommended.
Tasty Indian cuisine with friendly staff.
Lovely setting with some nice foliage.
Would rate a 4-star but after checking the menu and the needed translating of it, we ordered and got served the chosen menu with one dish changed. Had to ask why this was and they (the cook?) just decided to switch them. The dish was then still prepared and served, but should've been done so in the first place.
The place was small but the food was made and served well. We order a chicken shashlik and a mix grill starter as appetizers. Chicken shashlik picture us below was made well and chicken was done the correct way for shashlik.
We order a lamb biryani, I should mention the size of the servings is much smaller in Europe so Americans beware water ain't free and servings are small.
We also ordered a chicken tikka karahi and palak paneer and all items were made well.
