A beautiful place of course that everyone in Berlin interested in sightseeing should visit. There is a lot of beautiful sights around as well. We were there a short while after it was painted by activists, so our visit had a completely different dimension.
Iconic Berlin landmark. Feels futuristic despite opening in 1969. I visited at night and the atmosphere looking down over the city was really great. An adult ticket was 25€.
People probably don’t realise there is this Brandenburg gate as well as the other famous one.
This is in Potsdam and the place in general is very nice to visit. It’s all being rebuilt in the style of the past when it was destroyed. So it feels a little like a Disney set as so new.

The gate itself is nice to look at but nothing to actually do with it.
Obviously a great landmark to go and visit and get some photos. Very busy area and had some police presence.
Best to do some research about the gate before visiting to see the state of it before they refurbished it.

Shame it’s been spoiled by so called ‘protestors’ spraying orange paint at it. I hope this goes in time.
Brandenburg gate was builded after Prussia beat France. They also put the statue with 4 horses. This statue was taken to Paris after Napoleon beat Prussia. Later, they got it back when the Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo. I visited Brandenburg Gate after fair and it was late. But you feel safe in Berlin even if it’s night. There were only tourist and all the stores were closed.
Pretty by day, gorgeous by night.
Another nice landmark to visit in Berlin, there are some nice shops, embassies, restaurants, bars, museums and other famous landmarks around including some small area with benches for people to hangout. Nice experience!
Without a doubt, one of the greatest historical sites in Europe. Truly a majestic gate, with rich history. Seeing it restored to its former glory after the devastation it suffered during the Second World War is an unexplainable feeling. I’ve experienced many emotions while looking at it, pride, peace and hope.
Great 360° views from the viewing platform. With hindsight, we'd have done this earlier in the trip to help get orientated. Some of the routes we'd taken to places were bizarre looking down on them 🤣.

If you have the Berlin Welcome Card, you get a discount on entry here.
A beautiful engineering marvel.
We visited this place last month and were left mesmerized by the beauty of the castle, surrounding nature.
Make sure you are well planned before you visit the castel. Book tickets online, if it is not possible be at the ticket counter early in the morning or-else you will miss the entry.
During summer, it gets incredibly hot so be ready with water and some food.

There is plenty of parking space at the bottom of the castle and you need to take a bus or a horse kart or you can walk to reach the castle.

Overall a nice place. Must visit.
A must see historical beer house in the heart of Munich. No visit would be complete without stopping here and experiencing the atmosphere and delicious beer! Service is a little slow but the place is massive and can accommodate hundreds, either inside one of their many halls or in the central outdoor terrace. Come for the beer, stay for the excellent food and great entertainment. Be sure to stroll around this massive property and take in all the ambiance and history.
Much has already been said, but it is a good experience.
We first went to the Soviet War memorial and the walked up the main thoroughfare passed the statue of the crier and up to the gate.
It was at dusk so the atmosphere was very nice with the rich colours in the sky.
I won't add any more info about the gate as there is alot online.
The Jewish holocaust memorial is just a short walkaway and we then went to Checkpoint Charlie by which time it was dark and had a real Cold War feel about it in the dark (if you ignore the modern bits like the KFC/McDonald's signs)
An iconic part of Berlin's history- very busy area with tourists so may need to wait to get photo taken at the hut. Lots of information boards around the area and photos from before the fall of the wall.

Lots of touristy souvenir shops in area and the Checkpoint hsrlie Museum ( very worth a visit!)
The Brandenburg Tur Berlin is the most famous attraction of Berlin. The historical significance of this iconic gate is awe-inspiring. The guided tour provided insightful information about its rich history. The surrounding area is vibrant and perfect for taking in the city's atmosphere. The architecture is stunning, and it's a must-visit for anyone in Berlin. The only downside was the crowds, but it's a testament to its popularity. Overall, a memorable visit and a must-see landmark when in Berlin!
Very beautiful city. Everywhere neat and clean, pollution free environment and greenary everywhere too.
Magnificent castle, worth the trip. If you want to visit inside, make sure to book ticket ahead, during summer vacation up to 3-4 weeks. Going early in the day helps avoid the crowds a little.

Parking is available in the town, it costs 10 euros for the day. You can take the bus to the Marienbrücke and walk down to the castle or hike up the hill.
Really not much to see but so iconic. If you were around during the cold war, even the last bit of the 80s it's a place to must see, if nothing else just to say you've been.
Hard to believe that it wasn't that long ago it was a dark place.
Now I didn't even realise I approached it from the East side of Berlin with KFC and McDonald's signs where guards used to patrol with guns.
There is an experience you can visit but it was closed when we got there.
Magical magical magical ✨ Having seen this castle across the Internet for years we were keen to see it on our holiday to Bavaria. It has a fascinating history of Ludwig and the family. The castle was very finished and is incredible inside. Sadly Ludwig's was declared insane and not fit to rule, was captured and subsequently was found dead days later. I would recommend a personal tour company to deliver a guide as well as the inside tour to hear about the history of read up beforehand.
It is noisy, busy and tasty. The place is huge like a dinning hall. It has a courtyard that you can enjoy fresh air, sitting inside can be stuff in the summer time. But the court yard is very noisy.
Very busy. You will have much better luck before 5:30pm. They put “reserved” signs on the few tables next to the window open to the courtyard. This area fills up quickly after 6pm.
Food is delicious. Of course I ordered pig knuckle, and of course it is delicious. But I am not sure how they make mashed potato - it is called potato dumpling - It feels like it is mixed with sticky rice and it is like a ball that can bounce - not my favorite.
Bavarian Cream with fruit is really good. The cream is soft and melts in your mouth.

You can see the foam topping on the glass - great beers for sure.

I was lucky to have a waitress with smile on her face. But overall it is a very busy place so please don’t expect too much from service. Oh the wind band starts to play from 6pm.
Definitely a tourist destination but good food and beer. Apple strudel was delicious. Atmospheric with live music. Not very clean but due to being very busy.
Spectacular castle with an amazing history. Ludwig II was an usual and fascinating ruler. Recommend taking a private arranged tour as it will bring to life through amazing story of Ludwig II you simply won't get from just going into that castle. This castle has an interior unlike any other. Highly recommended.
Great place to see a modern sample of the older world. Constructed in the mid to late 19th century this is a live fairy tale of a village to visit. There are two castles the larger white one has a longer wait time when booking while the smaller castle which was in use is a lot quicker. Need to be in decent shape for this trip.
We enjoyed our dinner here. We felt like we are doing the thing that German people do, drinking beer. We shared a table with a few locals because we couldn't find an empty table. Live music was playing as we walked in around 7 pm. The chicken is my favorite. We also have the pork with a large potato dumpling
Already a week before our visit the tickets were sold out so make sure you buy tickets ahead of time if you want to visit the inside. The walk up is around 30 minutes, uphill but is doable. Alternatively you can take a bus up for 3 euros or a horse carriage for 8. The castle itself is very impressive, looks exactly like the sleeping beauty castle from Disney.
Very nice place, with a beautiful atmosphere and architecture, live band. It's a big place, busy, but service is good. Bit expensive if you are a budget traveller. Beer costs almost 12 and 6 euros and meals are 18 euros. Overall, I had a good experience.
I had taken a history course in middle school & learned about the Berlin Wall. Given I was in town with work, I decided to go check out Checkpoint Charlie. I read more about it on Wikipedia, and decided to skip the museum.

It was a partly sunny day in August & perfect temps. No humidity and the area was a short walk to downtown.
The experience and the view was enjoyable, although there were some aspects worth mentioning: Not having made a reservation for the dining area allowed me a 30-minute window in the observatory. While I appreciated the experience, I did feel that the overall cost was a bit high considering what was offered. Nonetheless, the view from the observatory was impressive, and I found that going close to sunset time enhanced the experience, providing an opportunity for stunning pictures. I'd recommend considering the timing and weighing the cost against the experience.
It is a lot of very old stone cut and cleaned and placed in such an order that it is really good looking. Obviously it is a tourist must see and I hope people taking the pictures with it in frame look up the history of it. It is well worth checking it out day and night.
A little old style but symbolic tower in Berlin. They have a restaurant in the observatory and we really enjoyed our dinner while we overlooked the city (and it turns!). It’s not a super tall tower so we could make out of each building from the observatory and it was very interesting!
Very nice to visit in the summer. The sun is warm, the place around feels festive. There were lots of tourist and it was generally fun to look around and enjoy the sites. I joined a few tours and the history is very interesting too.
Although you must visit and see and get your picture taken here if you are spending any amount of time in Berlin. The rush of the traffic and lack of "actors" continually tending to the hut has taken some of the shine off of it. Perhaps time has diminished the historical significance of it. Don't get me wrong we do visit it each time but it seems less important to do so as the decades have passed.
Potsdam is a beautiful city with lots of interesting architecture all around. You can walk through the Brandenburg Gate, eat or drink coffee near it. ☕️
We had a fun experience in this historic beer hall. We loved the food, music and beer. The pretzel was the best I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the pork knuckles and the live band. A must visit if you are visiting Munich!
An important part of history. We walked here from our hotel and their are lot of shops and restaurant around . It’s a public space and open all the time. They have build a 360 panorama which takes you back to the old times.
Massive place. Loads of space to stand in front of it. Completely free.
I'd recommend going in the day, but also passing by at night as well. It is a different atmosphere at each time. In the evening there were more street performers playing music. Also there were individuals throwing lights into the air which looked really good.
This is a iconic landmark of Belin. This is the only city gate which is still standing. Old days you had to pay a toll to go across. The place is very busy and usually gets very crowded so the best time to visit here is early morning or late night.
Recommended to visit, the view of the city from above is a must to see. Tickets are a bit pricey but worth the visit. There is a nice restaurant as well in the tower. There’s a souvenir shop as usual, with some cool gifts. Overall a great experience!
My visit to the Berliner Fernsehturm was truly delightful! The entire experience was quite impressive. The elevator ride was a standout, reaching an exhilarating speed of 6 m/s, which gave a sense of excitement as we ascended. What made it even better was the fact that we got our tickets for just 19 euros each, courtesy of the Berlin Welcome ticket. This not only made it an affordable choice but also a fantastic value for the experience. The iconic tower offers breathtaking views and a unique perspective of the city. If you're in Berlin, a visit to the Fernsehturm is a must—it's an experience that captures the essence of the city's charm and beauty from above.
Postdam is the perfect place to stay when you want to escape from the hutsle and bustle of Berlin. Brandeburger Tor is quiet an historical spot, we came here with a large family, an African festival was on we had quiet a good time. The dance was good and the music on point.
Visited Potsdam whilst staying in Berlin. It's the perfect place to escape the madness of Berlin and enjoy a quieter pace of life.
.
Brandenburg gate Potsdam is the showcase structure within the main square. It's really beautiful and towers the cafes and restaurants that lay around the square.
.
Combine your visit with a walk up to Sanssouci Place through the UNESCO gardens you won't be disappointed.
Missed out on the history part as we had the thunderstorm when our guide was telling about the place :) but loved the vibe of the place. Always something going on, looks more like a Times square of Berlin where always something is going on whether it is some protests or tourists taking pictures
Beautiful old city market with alot of shops of ice cream, coffee, cake , kababs etc.
And the most beautiful is it's old buildings.
Must must visit.
It have a lovely fountain in the middle of the market I will add the pictures.

And it walking distance from porta nigra.
Amazing palace in an amazing location between plains, lakes and high mountains. It looks medieval but is modern. Worth any voyage to come experience it and its surroundings.
Not that easy to get to but the climb/walk only adds to the luster of your visit. Reservations run out weeks in advance in summer so plan your visit well.
The bridge is best but not for the faint-hearted. I only go up a bit to take the amazing pictures of the castle, mountains, plain and lake.
We did not enjoy coming with a disabled person. We booked for a disabled person and an accompanying adult but:
1. You can't get to the front gate without climbing
2. You can't use the elevators in the castle unless you have a separate ticket for it, which I was not told about
3. The horse carriage stops running at 6pm even though we were told it would run until after our tour finished, so my mother had to hitch a ride back in an employee's car. If none had been available, she would have had to spend the night on the mountain somehow.
Landmark place of Trier, next St Peter cathedral and close to Porta Nigra
The view from across the road is stunning! You can either sit around the fountain and have coffee and take a stroll on the cobbled streets to window shop. Beautiful spot.
Iconic landmark. Always busy with tourists, difficult to get a clear photo. Even at night the place is busy. Easy to get to whether walking and talking in other wonderful views or public transport. One must see landmark in Berlin and Germany.
A fabulous visit to the restaurant at the top of the tower. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was really exciting to enter with a great feeling both of going back in time to the 1970s and also visiting the future!

The views are amazing and the food was really good too. 90 minutes is plenty of time although we were allowed to stay longer as our table wasn’t booked by anyone else so we could squeeze in desert!

We all had a great time creating lots of happy memories together.
Das Portal rahmt die Sichtachse vom Neuen Palais bis hin zum Obelisken am Eingang zum Schloss Sanssouci prachtvoll ein.

Sehr schön gemacht und definitiv eine Besichtigung wert.
First place to start our trip to Munich. This place has a history. Love it’s colourful interior and atmosphere. Good food and no doubt we enjoyed it but we were there for beer. Our first cheers and really enjoyed chill beer. Staff was cool and service was fine. Good to be here.
We visited in the beginning of July 2023. Online tickets were all sold out on the day we were planning to visit. We wanted to avoid the crowd. And opted to go in the evening. It turned out to be the best decision. We were able to park at the parking lot number 4, which was the closest to the road to walk up to the castle. We went up with two children age 6 and 8. The walk up to the castle was about 18 minutes and from the castle to the Marie’s Bridge was approximately 8 minutes. (It took us longer, because we were having fun along the way) On the Marie’s Bridge, you will be able to view the entire castle. I’m not scared of heights, but the bridge is high over a valley and a waterfall. There were only a few people there taking photos. We saw beautiful sunset on the way down. It was free, beautiful hike, and no crowds. It was remarkable!
Another beautiful monument in this square.
Popular tourist attraction. As such, just a lively intersection to click pics. They have recreated a checkpoint with sandbags etc., to get a feel of old times. Then along the lane there are many souvenir shops.
It was a fun visit.
Brandenburg Tor in Berlin is an unforgettable symbol of unity and history. Its majestic neoclassical architecture and iconic presence captivated me. Located in Pariser Platz, it's a lively hub for exploring the city. The gate's historical significance, witnessing both division and reunification, adds to its allure. Don't miss this must-visit landmark, conveniently close to other attractions. Visit early morning or evening for a less crowded experience. Brandenburg Tor left me with a deeper appreciation for Berlin's rich past and its spirit of unity. Highly recommended!
Checkpoint Charlie was one of the most iconic border crossings between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, and for good reason. The site is well-maintained and informative, and it provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Berlin Wall.

The museum at Checkpoint Charlie is a great place to learn about the history of the border crossing. There are exhibits on the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, and the people who tried to cross the border illegally. There is also a replica of the guardhouse that was used by the Americans.

Outside the museum, there is a large concrete slab that marks the former border between East and West Berlin. You can also see the watchtowers that were used by the East German border guards.

If you are interested in history, then Checkpoint Charlie is a must-see. It is a powerful reminder of the Cold War, and it is a fascinating place to learn about the history of Berlin.
Absolutely loved it! Booked our tickets online for a timed visit, you can buy from a machine outside if you require. The ride to the top takes just 40 seconds... Luckily we visited on a clear warm day so the views over the city were spectacular. Lots of info around so you can pick what you're looking at. Also took advantage of the bar , they do some themed cocktails if interested. Shop and toilets on the ground floor.
Classic monument, the hallmark of Berlin! Our experience was unique because in the evening we enjoyed an event in honor of the special olympics, it was amazing!
This gate predates its famous counterpart in Berlin, adding to its significance. The gate's majestic architecture and intricate details showcase the rich heritage of Potsdam.
The city centre (called Hauptmarkt) is the most charming part of the city. It is a square with lovely medieval buildings and structures. It is lined with cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops etc. It is the ideal place to relax and take a break from all the site seeing and walking.
Represents a typical old German town. Very picturesque market square with lots of restaurants and bier places around. The place is always bustling with people, mostly tourists. The place has many beautifully preserved medieval era buildings around. To have a better experience, I would recommend to sit with a chilled bier at one of the bier places and absorb the vibes. Many options for shopping lovers.
Stunning! It's a shame there's quite a few vans around. I liked the wine bar in the middle. Cute touch. When you see the building with gold, if you go opposite that, you'll find the church.
Having the opportunity to witness the theater of operations of the cold war is undoubtedly one of the main attributes that Berlin offers for those interested in history. The city has preserved these places that are very important for the history of the city, the country and the world. The entire site is very detailed with a lot of information for those interested in knowing the German perspective of this piece of world history.
This place simply enchants you with its delicate colors, exquisite shapes, and a wealth of history.
I live in Trier and love going to the town square. It is so relaxing and great for people-watching. Do yourselves a favour and visit!
It is situated at a central place, the street through the gate is so beautiful but the gate in itself is just okay to visit. It doesn't have the same grand view when compared to the Brandenburg gate in Berlin
Historical landmark - automatic 5 stars, how do you rate the value of history?
It’s got to be done! Big loud beer hall. Just turn up and take a seat, order a litre of beer and some food and enjoy. Cool band playing and a great atmosphere! Food was okay - but the atmosphere makes up for it.
Tor und gleichzeitig einer der Eingänge zum Schlosspark dem.
Beautifull place.
Man mindestens 2x im Jahr ein Ausflug nach Sanssoucie muss sein!
The main purpose of our Potsdam trip was to visit San Souci, but the gardens were awe inspiring. We loved discovering little areas to sit and enjoy the peaceful day. I would not miss the chance to visit the gardens.
Nice place to visit. Specially when you are with family
Within walkable distance from the Potsdam Hbf, we visited this place on our way to the station. It is possible to take bus no 695 from the Brandenburg Tür and visit this monument with the adjoining structures like the NicolaiKirche and the Potsdam Museum before you head for your final departure.
The usual pretty obelisk. No more no less.
It is located in a square surrounded by pretty local attractions that are interesting to visit if you have free time separate from visiting other more popular tourist places of the city
A lovely area in Potsdam
Schönes Eingangstor zu riesigem Park und vielen Schlössern. Absolut eine Reise wert.
Wirklich alles ansehen , wenn man schon mal hier ist .
Wurde 1747 von G.W.von Knobelsdorff erbaut.
