Reviews
Nice big enough organize but still smaller than the other one in big city but offer good service in the area
Incredibly rude staff at the self serve. The scan & go was not working. Forced to scan at the end. When I asked for help, the assistant was so rude. Thought they were there to help. Never goi g to that Tesco again!!!
Same old also stock but the staff have no sense of humour.
When arriving at tills there were announcements for 2 more tills opening with the only open till devoid of staff. With this observation made I said, I like how they are opening more till with the original till empty”, a member of staff overheard me, triggered she said, “my colleague has gone to the toilet” and walked off.
Me my partner and the customers near us all started laughing, I guess a joke about the obvious and a corporate implemented humour removal was too much for the staff in this place.
Went to B&M to buy snacks that this place didn’t have i fancied.
Did get milk though .

Saffron Walden Aldi. Had a wonderful cashier, Raj, not sure I've spelt his name right, He engaged with my grandson and got him involved helping with the packing, without missing a beat. Made the whole exercise so much easier. I coan't praise him enough. Huge smile and nothing phased him.
Need more tools, canoes snorkels, and tents ... too much food in here 🤣
Special thanks to Ms Grace for working till she is very kind and friendly.
This afternoon the sun was shining, and so I decided, as one does, to have a bit of a picnic. Nothing fancy, just the essentials. Imagine my horror when I discovered I was fresh out of quail's eggs, and sun dried tomatoes. Thankfully, Waitrose had me covered with their essentials range, for just the core staples we can't do without. My picnic was fabulous. Thank you, Waitrose
Nice supermarket! What surprises me comparing with Brussels where I live ; the enormous amount of ready cooked food. Doesn’t English people like to cook?
I carried out my shopping on Saturday AM. I am 77 years old and suffered a fall in the car park. I was swiftly and sympathetically atteneded to by three members of staff who looked after me until my son arrived . This review is to express my HEARTFELT THANKS for taking care of me and to make sure the staff get credit for their actions
Have shopped at Malvern branch for years. The building needs a good clean up outside, it's looking tired and grubby.
I, like many are put off by the self service checkouts appearing. It's all very well becoming more efficient and automated but where is the personal touch other than when the self service red light comes on? I'm not sure it's a change for the better. 3 stars this time, sorry.

OK but not enough chicken and no joints of pork veg wasn't really good either most of it was out of date
Great selection of clothes and food and very competitive. Good disabled parking.
Good for most grocery shopping. My only complaint was that they didn't stock their own brand of Assam loose leaf tea when I called in.🥺
The new self service checkouts are terrible. The bagging scales are too small for more than one bag. I like to put meat in a separate bag. There is no weighing scale any more. You have to leave the terminal to use a separate scale. Not happy at all, why change something that worked okay?
Went there about 6 years ago, just bought a pack of jelly babies. The cashier was really nice, realizing that I was struggling with the currency a bit. She just said "Honey let me help you if that's alright." and that is one of core memories of staying in Saffron Walden. I hope my queen is doing well and got a generous raise for being an amazing worker.
Such a shame the Worcester Park branch has changed the tills to mainly self service.
I loath these tills.
Went in today and first 2 items went wrong as usual. I had to wait for staff member to sort them out.
The shelf is too small if buying more than 5/6 items. I assume they don’t want customers to buy many items.
No one was serving on the 2 normal tills that are left.

Store is an absolute mess near enough every item has been massively overloaded on the shelves that it all falls off when you go to grab something. surely you stock up throughout the day? Also, members of staff just shouting up and down the store to each other…how about walk to them and ask the question rather than shouting in-front of the whole store. I am a regular face of this store and throughout the last few weeks/months there has been a lot of new faces it must be a bad place to work and everyone is miserable. Definitely the worst Aldi I’ve been to!
Good choice of food had everything I wanted
Worst Aldi I have ever been in, really unorganised shop, items scattered all around the shop, no continuity with food, worst fruit and veg I have seen. Shame because I like an Aldi but not this one.
Always queues at the checkout only one self-service till for cash. Never enough staff.
Never experienced such rude people. Traveled far to get a watermelon and the shop assistants couldn't even help open and sell their new delivered goods.
This one is just like any other Aldi. Good pricing on items - however not many of the really well known brands. Fruit & Veg and meat are always good, but do find the meat a little variable in quality at times
This store has great quality products, they might not be as cheap as other supermarkets, but I find that the goods are fairly priced considering the quality of what's being sold.
Came in on Saturday , i’m new to the area and wasn’t familiar with the layout of the store . I was lost and i couldn’t find the laundry detergent i wanted so asked this lovely young woman who i believe her name was Milly and she helped me with a smile on her face . Fantastic service
Love the new nectar prices, finding more ov my products going cheaper than I'd use to get before well done 👏....
Good Tesco but with everything getting more expensive I have noticed a lot of there cheap brands are not shocked at this Tesco so now buying else were
Supermarket for many purposes. Partly household food, hygienic materials, tools as necessary for fulfilling needs around home, etc.
Great hardworking friendly staff and even store manager visible working on shop floor nearly every visit. bring banditos back but as cans and stock all year round please!
A good Aldi and a wide selection. My first choice for groceries
Clean, good selection of fresh produce.
Customer service always tip top.
Thank You Waitrose

Great selection of spices, breads, halal meat, pickles, and sweets. You'll find coffees and twas here too. Cash only.
Big and recently refurbished Aldi. Pleasant staff. Generally good produce. Their ice cream can be particularly good value (for the Magnum look-alikes).
Clean tidy and we'll stocked can get busy at checkout when they keep opening closing tills all the time instead of just having 2 always open
Awful experience at new self service tills this morning, only one manned till open with a long queue. Numerous problems with new till, would scan item and place in bag area but machine would freeze and tell me to place in bag, which I had just done. Please open more manned checkouts, self service not practical when you spend £80+
Ordered a click and collect on Sunday expecting them on Tuesday. Got a message on Monday morning to say it’s ready. Very pleased with such efficient service and friendly staff as always.
Absolutely shocking management 10.15pm no management available as she's hiding from customers. Finally makes an appearance and behold a proper jobsworth, blaming her staff for her mistakes. Rude and unfriendly and frankly crappie person who isn't fit manage a pissup at a brewery. Will be escalating further until she is no longer a management level employee.
Following frustrating use of Tesco Mobile app regarding a faulty sim ,attended this store today and was dealt with by Emily.
Emily can only be described as fantastic, she went the extra mile to resolve mu issues.
5 stars to her ...unusual customer service..these days

Always use Tescos for most of our food shops. Everytime we've been its been clean, tidy and helpful staff.
Thank you to friendly helpful staff at Waitrose for keeping my shopping bag when i accidentally left it behind. I got through on the phone and spoke to a helpful member of staff straight away (rather than an answer machine) despite it being 7.30 in the evening.
Good service thanks.
Good service thanks.
Shop not same anymore.
First very disappointed with fresh bread section .
Size of sourdough bread quality go down hill and size shrink .
But price go up .
Lunch section not many choices .
Poultry very poor choices too .
Their organic chicken look like smal pigeon and price £20 each
And lots of different minus in shop which I noticed for last 3 years of changing.
Definitely getting worse

Lovely shop! You can find everything you need there and they have a good selection of halal meets and frozen food
The cheapest place for goods in the local area, make sure you are fast at packing as the checkout staff are very efficient.
Extremely poor service from Waitrose. Delivery was missing 50% of the items ordered and they wanted to blame deliveroo for their own inability to actually supply the goods stated as in stock online.
Love shopping here. Great selection+ staff but soooo expensive
Love Waitrose produce usually. I have always looked forward to jersey royal potato season. This year sorry to say they are horrible. No way taste like a genuine jersey royal. Have tried loose and bagged ones....both ended up in compost.
Pretty good shopping experience, tad expensive in some items but if you know what the prices on things are then you can usually find a cheaper alternative. Disappointed that sometimes the flowers don't have any bags, so the shop ends up with wet floors and sad, soggy customers. The bathrooms are very stinky, but that is due to the shoppers, not the shop itself.
The store was more useful for me when it used to be 24 hour — but the stock is fairly decent. Also the staff have either been quite lovely or quite rude… concerning all of my supermarket shopping, this store has probably had the rudest interactions I’ve had. I remember a lady with glasses coming to clear an age-restricted item for me, and she randomly said “you’re welcome” when I hadn’t said anything then stormed off onto the next person. Strange — but as a reliable store, it doesn’t deserve a lower rating than three stars
Stopped here to do a big shop on our way to Ross. Empty shelves EVERYWHERE! Boxes laying around on the floor, steps sitting by freezers and poor quality meat. Fine as a corner shop if you only want bread, coke, beans and milk - even those items were scarce! Dreadful!
Decent, but needs some improvements.
Went in a full hour before closing. The cheese counter looked open and there was a staff member there, but she said they were closed so I couldn't have a piece of already-cut-and-wrapped cheese.
The front of the store was full of the plant shelves from outside, so I couldn't leave the store easily as other people checking out were blocking the strip of remaining space with their trollies. Not their fault of course - entirely on Waitrose for putting all those shelves in the walkway an hour before closing.
Also, the flooring needs replacing, the ladies' loo is pathetic, and the car park is very badly designed.
The food is generally good though, and all the cashiers are delightful.
Just make the shopping experience more pleasant, please!

I pop in here after hospital visits . Good range of clothes for everyone... they stopped selling cds ages ago which I miss picking one up when I shop .. picked up some food items also .. not overpriced ...
Used the cafe today. They were sending out completely uncooked chips. People were sending them back. I sent mine back and was told that "chef" had been made aware of the problem but, the cooker was automatic.
Why send out things that are clearly no good? What kind of Chef would permit this? Would they send out raw chicken?

A good Arabic marekt, if you search about Halal food or some Arabic herbs and seeds absolutely Istanbul market your target place..
Love shopping at sainsburys. Decided to call in cafe with my sister. I was extremely disappointed with the staffing today, the poor lad on his own. Taking orders, on the till, making coffee, running food out to tables. We Felt quite uncomfortable to see this. Other staff members in the back and occasional coming out to wipe tables and take the trolley out. I use to work for m&s and we all would of jumped on to help service the customers. Then clean tables.etc. as there was enough spare tables. The management needs to address there staffing
Getting used to their new design, it is a better layout and if it stays the same over a long period of time I will be able to write my basic shopping list in order of walking through the shop.
HI ade is a very popular shop and as a great service. And the staff are friendly and helpful great service
Great store with a great selection of food and clothing as well as awesome friendly staff! The only thing I’d like to see changed would be the introduction of raw halal meat, specifically chicken. The halal selection already in store is good but not good enough. Other than that - it’s a super store!
A good range of products. Some price matching going on , but always check price per 100g etc as some 'deals' can be misleading.
Lovely Tescos, plenty of produce and items. Staff very friendly. Car parking is easy and assessable.
Amazing store. Only problem for me was it's only cash. Otherwise, great range and variety of products
Free parking with plenty of space, and being a Tesco extra it has more stock and selection than a normal Tesco, toilets are at the back of the store on 1st floor near the cafe.
Popped in for a little something to welcome a new baby and found a pair of summer rompers and a tee shirt. Good quality, fair price.
It was great for me as everything is spaced out well and as I am using my stick more now for balance I was just fine. Everything is clearly labelled and within easy reach.
By having self service tills here you could do your own scanning which is more relaxing.

Very good service today from the fish counter. Unfortunately, I didn't have a Waitrose card, so I didn't get the discount.
Great value and a huge range of food/vegetables. The shopping trip was quick due to the self-service tills. The staff were very helpful when asked about finding items.
Good choice. Big store. Good staff. Loads of parking, cashpoint. Fresh veg, fish, deli and fresh meats etc. Good selection overall. Huge sushi bar and selection also.
Ordering from them via deliveroo used to he good, bit really awful now. Orders take over an an hour to deliver in a less than a mile Journey.
Shop feels like it's designed for just old people.

Staff are amazing. All the shelf fillers are amazing. The check outs are amazing, also went to the cafe upstairs and I did find staff to be very friendly and helpful willing to go extra to make sure you comfortable and got everything you need.
A nicely laid out larger store, with a wide range of food and household goods. Aisles are well spaced out, staff always helpful and of course Waitrose own food is always excellent.
Not a great Tesco. As it’s a bigger Tesco it’s expected they have plenty of stock and a huge choice of products but that doesn’t apply here. They only do for instance one brand of a product and 9 times out of 10 when we’re after something specific they don’t have it in stock so not good suppliers to this Tesco. Some staff here aren’t good at listening or guiding customers including the daughter of Michelle Lucking who worked here who pays no interest to help anyone at the store.
This review is regarding the cafe only. It has recently been totally refurbished . It is immaculate and the toilets are spotless. The coffee, snacks and food are all high quality and well cooked. However I do find the service quite slow often accumulating queues. Look out for their special offers.
Good but needs some improvements; The quality of food is overall very good and most prices are reasonable, although they have soared recently. The cheese counter is great and I am a regular customer there but very rarely I get served straightaway. There often seem to be lack of staff at the counters and couple of times I had to wait for more that 10min for someone to appear and serve me - that despite other staff wondering around. Customer service is very good and things get sorted straightaway, including order collections. Self service checkout machines often show errors and it is not always obvious to the personnel that customers need assistance.
I have been a regular shopper at the store since it opened 2002/3. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant, they have a good variety of products, the instore argos click and collect is very useful. Cafe could do with improving as very slow service not very organised. Toilets always clean.
I would like to get this store to give the facility of pay by card as well.
As well as there guys who make the meat they are not very good in making it nicely according to the order.
So please make it a better place for everyone who likes to come in there.

New store with all basic grocery and some de lux items to suit. Centre aisles hold special offers of all kinds. A selection of plants and cut flowers available too. Nice shop and staff.
It's okay, for Pakistani people the range of spices is not good but they have a good selection of halal meats.
I occasionally visit this store. I went around 315pm, school kickout time so was expecting lots of parents and children.
Today I managed to get everything on my shopping list -even the Cucumber (its currently out of stock or restricted purchase in other local supermarkets).
The majority of shelves were well stocked, although some fruit and veg were out of stock.
There was a brief wait at the till point. The assistant processed my items efficiently. There was the option of having a till receipt (love that Waitrose are considering the environment in all the small ways).
The site was clean and I could easily navigate to items I needed.
I was able to park in my desired area of the car park and could pay the parking machine using real cash, which was very useful as I'm counting the pennies right now.
Didn't see any parents until leaving the store- luckily I had just missed the school rush.

A good range of groceries at keen prices, but quite a lot of common items were represented by brands not common in other widespread chains.
I had a terrible experience here a year ago when I was doing my Christmas shopping a year ago. I was shopping with my grandmother, when I stepped away to look at whiskeys and gins to purchase for gifts for family and friends when I was approached by security and began to be questioned about why I was there and accused of stealing following which I was told that I will be escorted to the checkout with what I was holding or I will be asked to leave. The experience had left me quite upset and frankly not at all what I would have expected. I would like to say a thank you to the other 90% of staff who work here and are absolutely lovely.
It's not what it was. Recently I have been very disappointed with the quality of the fresh vegetables and given the high prices I am now buying them elsewhere. Shelves are all too often empty or low on stock. Also, too few checkouts are open, resulting in queues. The Malvern, Evesham, and Hereford stores are so much better.
You can find a good selection of sweets, spices and pickles in this shop. It seems that the layout and cleanliness of the store needs more attention. One of the meat sellers does not have a good behavior that we stop buying whenever we see that person there. In general, if you are interested in buying halal products in Belfast, I recommend going to this store
Just tried to do our Christmas fresh food shopping where to begin. The vegetable isle was a poor show the bags of sprouts didn’t look very fresh and were that small by the time you’d topped them there’d be nothing left to cook, very disappointing. No broccoli just bags of trimmed steamed broccoli. As for what was left looked like it had been there all week brown and wilted. Moving on to the meats there was more out of date stuff on the shelves than stuff with at least a 2 day life span. In the end we Abandoned our trolley and made our way to Aldi where we got everything we needed and at half the price & fresher. Safe to say we won’t be shopping at Tesco’s again 👎
Dear Tescos Radwinter road, I've just completed the dreaded Christmas shop and what a great experience it was . Congratulations to whoever decided to staff the extra self service tills and to manage the queues through them ...all I needed to do was pack ! Thank you for taking some of the stress out of Christmas. .merry Christmas to all the staff rgds
Took the breakfast at £4.95 no eggs so 1 extra rasher bacon add 1 Americana cost £7.65? The meal arrived quickly but was luke warm. On the whole dissapointing.
Parking.
Free parking if using Sainsburys, plenty of disabled and a good amount of parent child. can be slow getting out at busy times.
For the first gwo hours.
Service.
Thought it would be disorganised chaos looking at the layout outside the front of the store but it was actually okay inside. Shelves were reasonably well stocked but they still struggle with value for money. They're pushing 'locked prices' which offer reasonable value, the rest is noticeably expensive. All the Covid measures were in place and I felt reasonably safe shopping, although some of the customer's struggled with the current necessary ettiquettes'.
Staffs.
Really good checkout experience, served by Suzanne with good down to earth friendly service.
Cost.
Comparing others in the same vicinity bit expensive if you hold a discount card or coupon don't hesitate to use it.

The only big supermarket in my town, great selection of products no questions but with the waitrose price tags.
Great supermarkets if you can afford it, good Asia selection too.

Used to love tescos. Staff are great and it's no fault to them. Now hate! As so unuser friendly!!! Wake up tesco before you lose all your customers!!!
Pope's in to get a few things as we had a holiday cottage nearby. Was looking for paracetamol and was obviously looking lost when a young lad came and asked me if he could help. I said yes he pointed to the correct aisle. Not sure if he was on shift or not as he had a back pack on over his uniform. A very well trained staff member I must say.
Very impressed with the store manager and staff who were so helpful today in looking for a trolley that my mother in law with dementia had misplaced. They really could not have been kinder or more helpful. I am so grateful to them.
I only used Cafe upstairs and yes I had to wait a bit for my breakfast and Avocado on toast but that's ok as the food was delicious and the avocado on toast... well I will just add the picture . I did find staff to be very friendly and helpful willing to go extra to make sure you comfortable and got everything you need.
Thx guys!

This was my first time visiting this branch of Tesco. The road layout going into the store is a bit confusing if you aren't a local as all the road markings have eroded. The store itself is a bit dated, but did have plenty of the usual Tesco stock on hand at fair prices. Staff seemed friendly and there would appear to be some renovations going on. Simply marking down as the store is dated and the car park.
What a lovely shopping experience yesterday, thanks to Sharon. She was friendly and attentive and so kind to my Mum on her 80th birthday, made her day! So refreshing to be in a store with great staff that make an effort. Well done!
Generally OK, with good customer service, but prices are now expensive. Also, on one occasion, I bought some milk from the store which made me quite ill. After I reported this, I received a letter from Waitrose's head office falsely claiming that it was unlikely that it was the milk that had caused me to become ill, without providing any reason for its claim or any evidence. However, I was ill on two occasions after consuming the milk, and I was fine on the day between those two occasions when I did not consume the milk, as I had stated when reporting the problem. Waitrose should take food safety much more seriously, instead of just trying to brush off and ignore any problems.
Huge Tesco store with cafe on the mezzanine level. More choice than most other Tesco store's. Plenty of checkouts open with cashiers which was great. Customer service desk staff were really good and went out of their way to assist with a hat lost while shopping in the store.
We have been regular customers at Waitrose, in Great Malvern, for many years. The outside of the building is very scruffy now and needs a lot more maintenance. The staff are great and always helpful. We will be avoiding the self service checkouts.
I have asked many times if the missing tree, on the car park, can be replaced but to no avail.
