Located between Friday market and Tabata Bridge (and park), I have passes by this museum so many times but “war” museum was not my thing… I thought. One day, it started to rain a lot just outside the museum, I have decided to pop by. I am glad I did so as I spend well over one hour there.
100k t for non Iranian as entrance fee, I actually spend over one hour in this museum. There are number of halls which explain Iran Iraq war. What striking in this museum is a number of simulations throughout the museum with light and sounds effects - quite well set up. It tells us a story of victims and survivors- most vulnerable people always suffered most.
There are some English translations in exhibitions but I felt I had felt more in my heart than just reading explanations. Reminded me how recent these wars have been. And what impact it may have on people.
I would say worth a visit even if you are normally not a person to go to those theme museum.

A nice place for half a day walk around, specially if you like to see some Russian armor from the cold war era . if you walk 10 minutes there are coffee shops and restaurants available and the largest book store in Tehran with lots of varieties .
One of the best museum I ve ever met in Iran. Very well designed and implemented. Staff are so professional, well educated, polite n kind. Mostly speak fluent english, you can see different aspect of war from tehran bombing till waling in Khorramshahr after occupied by Iraq. Defiantly one of recommended places in Tehran to spend some time there.
There are god amount of parking spot around and so close to other places such as book garden and nature bridge.

موزه زیبا، بزرگ و مجموعه بی نظیر از اسلحه ها و ..... که در انتهای موزه یادواره دفاع مقدس می باشد ضمنا اسناد حمله صدام به ایران موجود است
Engaging, modern and informative museum giving perspective on Iran's war with Iraq. As a tourist I highly recommend this place.

موزه ارتش در خیابان معلم واقع شده است. این موزه که در سال هزار و سیصد و هشتاد و هشت افتتاح شده دارای هشتصد متر مربع زیربنا ست. این موزه بسیار دیدنی، دارای چهار هزار تجهیزات نظامی در انواع مختلف از دوران قاجاریه است که از استانهای مختلف گرد آوری شده است.
در موزه ارتش همچنین علاوه بر عکسهای دوران دفاع مقدس، اسنادی مثل وصیت نامه شهدا، آثار باقیمانده از آنها و دو تابلوی نفیس که قدمتی یکصد ساله دارند نیز در معرض تماشای بازدید کنندگان قرار گرفته است. بازدید از این موزه دیدنی خالی از لطف نیست.
