Football
Bourj Hammoud Stadium. It is the only stadium that was fit to play football after the civil war in Lebanon. It was the first time to host the Lebanese teams and the national team after the civil war, and to host the World Cup qualifiers for the Lebanese national team
Probably the most Iconic and historical football stadium in Lebanon, and the main Landmark of Tarik Al Jadida area, but the facility has been neglected for so many years. Poor turf surface. No football games been scheduled on this football field for sometime.
In the early 1990s I watched several matches at bourj hammoud stadium. Homenmen versus al Ansa? And also a team I remember as nijmeh. My memory might be wrong. Can somebody verify this. I also played a couple of games for a team called massis. They were affiliated with homenmen. We were a red strip. I scored the winning goal in one game. Does anybody remember a young english lad playing football in Beirut at that time.
One of the oldest football stadiums in lebanon with natural grass. It needs renovation specially in the stands and the changing rooms.
Because the mayor wants to crash it an made it car parking. He should be arrested for his suspicious deals.
We used to come here to watch all football game for my favorite team saggesse before 20 years ago. It really needs renovation and the grass to be planted again. I m not sure that they are still using this stadium for football or any other kind of sports. The municipality should be taking care of this important stadium and invest on it for future generation.
A very nice and big field but there are grass in the middle and not straight.
Good and well taken care of
People living around enjoy the open space in a very crowded neighborhood, or else it is mostly closed for public. It could be good for jogging if they allow it
Stadium the all people can visit
A place to play football for free
I was in bourj hamoud at saturday the passenger needs uber to Ashrafiyeh Bakery Hayek it was too much traffic there i went to highway not to be late. He cancelled the order thank you
An interesting stadium in the heart of the city. Available for different events, parades and celebrations; once known served as the host place for "LEVAM" (an Armenian Olympics-like tournaments)
One and the only jogging place in the area. An oasis in the buildings jungles. Please, maintain it well. If only there were more green public places here...
Nice open space but always closed for public
it was and will stay a bad experience the stadium was one of the most beautiful and recognised landmarks in tareq al jdede , it happened badly that the lebanese national forces took over the stadium to make it a military spot
Grounds arent well taken car of and VIP section is a bunch of chairs set on the concrete blocks. Supposed to be protected from the rain, but many chairs squezed out water when you sat on them. e
It needs re innovation, and it's been years since they held games in this stadium.
