Fajne miejsce.
Nicely done, and surprisingly extensive exposition on Luxembourg's castles, including models and information on their history and modern-day use.
Absolutely fabulous place to visit on a rainy day, especially with children. Many interesting hands-on experiments, well explained and described.
Bravo to LSC team, very well organized.
The place was very clean, people happy to explain thoroughly all the physical effects we were able to experience.
Big spectrum of activities to touch, perform, contribute and exercise ourselves and complete understanding of "what is happening there".
We shall come back again and we are more than interested to learn more.

Bravo LSC 👏
Very interesting museum, provides most important information about the history of this beautiful country and its growth.
I recently visited the Mudam for a Sunday afternoon and while the current art exhibition didn’t entirely resonate with me, the museum’s stunning architectural design more than made up for it. Not only is the building a modern marvel, but the brunch offered at the museum’s café was a delightful surprise, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. It’s a great destination for anyone looking for a mix of art, impressive architecture, and good food in a relaxed setting.
1000 und mehr Match box Autos, interessant.
Maybe this place was not for my taste. Maybe I am not that much of a Modern Art enthusiast that is required to enjoy this place. We visited on a rainy afternoon and the place was pretty empty. We had really high expectations as we are so fond of art museums and try to visit them whenever we can.

There were installations, paintings and photographs to describe different themes. Some of them I liked but for the most part, I felt out of place. Especially when it came to the paintings.

There were four acts and they styled them in different colors. The 'tears come after laughter' was good. But for the rest, I rest my case!

There was a photograph of a ' White Stool' that I didn't understand the significance of.
Very nicely designed museum. With every step, you can find something surprising there. You can learn about Luxembourg-ville itself, European union and see some art as well. There are descriptions of almost everything in French, German and English! ♡
It's easily accessible for people with disabilities, there are toilets and lockers.
The building itself is so beautiful, it’s huge and the entrance to the museum is captivating! We enjoyed our time here, however I did feel there was a lack of use of space - the building is so huge but a small fraction of it is used for modern art pieces. That was our only concern. On the other hand, there was a drop-in workshop we could attend which was really fun and I really loved that there was something interactive for us to do. This museum is great for modern art lovers!
Not to be missed. Great museum on General Patton and the American troops. Also quite a bit of information on how the war effected Luxembourg and the people, from the invasion of a neutral country, occupation, liberation in Sept 44, the Battle of the Bulge and liberation again in Feb 45.
There is parking at the museum, just need to purchase your entry and you will be given a ticket for your dash.
Lovely lady at the counter who was a wealth of knowledge about Patton, the American troops, Luxembourg and what the citizens went through during the war.
Very pleasantly surprised by this museum 🏤 that has permanent exhibitions 🖌📽 but also temporary ones. The visit costs 5 euros for Adults and is free for children and students.

When i've been there, the temporary exhibitions included the history of food 🥣🍜🍽🧃 and posters exhibition advertising events ✈️🚲🗼🎭💃from the current and last century.

The exhibitions are mostly related to Luxembourg history or specifics, which is very nice thing to see.🏡

The huge elevator (the size of a room) and the panoramic terrace are two extra points to this museum, next to the VR room where you can virtually see parts of the old Luxembourg. 🥰👏👍😊

The exhibitions are exposed on 5 floors, but the time required ⏳️ to complete them is not too long (I estimate maximum 1h30m).
One of the most interesting museums that i've seen. 🤩 Everything is clearly explained. I've went with a friend with two children and they were very impressed.

The languages used on the boards are french and german. I think it would be a plus to have them in english too.😊🙏

There are also places with interactive actions. You push a button and you can see on a screen stages of an event (like plant development). Or You can pose in a semi-box and a on a screen in front of you there's a skeleton imitating your moves.👏

I loved the minerals, the explanations for each exponat (animal, bird, fosilized plants or marine animals) and the pieces of meteorites.

Recently went on a trip to Europe with my father and was very impressed by the content of the museum but also the artifacts and the detailed story of how Luxembourg was impacted by Germany in WW2. Great museum and would thoroughly recommend to anyone with any interest in not just Pattons achievements but to gain a valued perspective by the Luxembourgers. Thanks!
Way bigger than in looks in the pictures, schedule your time appropriately (i failed in doing so 😅 )

Lots of artifacts and a great presentation of the history of Luxembourg. I knew nothing about the city (or the country to be honest) and after the visit i feel like a scholar 🧐

And as a bonus they have a HUGE elevator that you should absolutely ride and a really nice terrace with a great view!

Free lockers available (required for your backpack) and nice staff. Almost every text also in english.
Any age of kids would love this place. Even we enjoyed it. Lot to explore and learn. I personally liked the animals section. It was not planned to visit this place but since it was raining we decided to take our kids here. I think it was a good decision.
Used the free public transport to get to Ettelbruck station and the museum was not far away or difficult to find. The lady on reception spoke excellent English and told us a lot about the history and reasons for the museum and also recommended other local places to visit connected to WW2 such as the Schumannseck trail (a trail around the woods where one of the major conflicts in the battle of the bulge took place).
The museum itself was very interesting and had descriptions in english to explain the exhibits. The 2 video presentations were well worth a visit despite one being quite long. We spent a good few hours there looking at the exhibits relating to the army and aircraft.
The Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art is a captivating showcase of contemporary artistic expression. Housing an impressive collection of both local and international works, the museum immerses visitors in a world of creativity. Its architecturally striking building sets the stage for a diverse array of paintings, sculptures, and multimedia installations. The curation masterfully combines renowned artists with emerging talents, offering a dynamic experience for art enthusiasts. The museum's commitment to interactivity enhances the visit, with engaging exhibits and informative guides. A visit to the Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art is a visual journey through the evolution of artistic innovation.
This Saturday we were at Astronomy Days and had to wait 20 minutes in the queue at the entrance even though we'd already booked our tickets! We missed the conference we wanted to attend. :-(
Your booking system is very prehistoric.
Never had this issue in other museums.
Lindo parque bien cuidado
Located at the main entrance to the upper town park, the statue of Princess Amélie stands at the end of the perspective axis that leads from Rue des Bains to the monument. This was the first monument erected in the Grand Duchy following its independence in 1839, dedicated to a woman – the wife of Prince-Lieutenant Henry, who ruled over Luxembourg on behalf of his brother, King-Grand Duke William III. The idea of erecting a monument emerged immediately after the death of Amélie on May 1, 1872, at Walferdange Castle. The initiative came from the ruling classes, who considered the monarchy a guarantor of national independence. Since Amélie was not a sovereign, the government couldn't support this project. The City took on this role and, from 54 submissions, selected the project penned by Charles Pêtre, director of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Nancy. Engineers Oscar Bélanger (1835-1884) and Tony Dutreux (1838-1933) created the monument, while the statue was the work of Jean-Antoine Injalbert (Prix de Rome). The monument was inaugurated in 1876.
Small but compact, one of the activities you should do when you visit luxembourg, it will not take long but you will feel good in the end.
I went their to explore it with my teenage cousins and uncle, believe me every one of us was engage with the activities here.
If you want your child to start taking interest in different phenomenon of physics its a worth visiting museum.
Quite ordinary museum - posters with info and a lot of objects behind glass. Nothing special and not so specialized on General Patton as I had expected. If already know a lot about WWII, then there will be little new.
Well organised and informative museum. It covers all the aspects (economical, political, demographic etc) of the history of this fortress from the start until nowadays. You need more than 2 hours to tour yourself around in a comfortable pace and reading the information. The is also a panoramic terrace, which provides nice views.
Beautiful, quiet place...
Interesting and kid-friendly spot to learn about science and physics. There's lots of machines and devices to easily explain how things work.
We haven't waited for long to enter but there was a problem with finding a parking spot. At the entrance there's a shop, great distraction for children. There's also a canteen where you can have a dinner with your family. There are toilets and free Wi-Fi too.
Minus one star because it feels like putting everything in one room isn't the best solution. It feels like giant crowded and loud playground. Some devices were broken and looking at reviews they've been like this for a long time already.
I really enjoyed my visit at the Luxembourg City Museum, which is free for students under 26 and includes another local gallery also. The main exhibit offers a comprehensive history of Luxembourg and spans multiple floors, all accessible by both lifts and stairs. The centrepiece of the Museum is a gorgeous panoramic lift, and the terrace offers a lovely view out over the city.
An amazing museum if you are interested in nature and rocks and minerals. Even though the museum is clearly designed with children in mind, it is still interesting for adults. Clear information on the formation of the earth. Definitely worth its price. Only downside was that all information was in German and French but with modern tools that is no longer an issue.
A great place for kids and adults. All the screens have language selection and we were there for about 2 hours, the bathrooms are clean and staff super nice!
Great multilingual science center, well worth a visit with your family if you're in or near Luxembourg. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My four year old was particularly fascinated with the construction-themed exhibits while my nine year couldn't get enough of the Boombox electronic music exhibit. I noticed quite a few of the exhibits are very recent, such as the ChatGPT-like AI that can understand and answer your spoken questions. There is no on-premise restaurant but there are several good dining options nearby, and there's a picnic area if you've brought your own lunch.
The museum is ideal for families with children. It's very educational, but unfortunately, all informations about displayed items aren't on English.

Interesting exhibition for orchids fans until the end of August. Check it out! (There is an explanation on English for every orchid species)
Wonderful! We thought we would do a ‘quick’ tour, but the Museum is so interesting - The Liberation of Luxembourg, Christmas 1945, but also the stories of the inhabitants during the war - some heroic, some tragic, but all very moving. Great displays of WWII & US military memorabilia. Lovely helpful lady at Reception, & minimal entry fee. Highly Recommended for all ages.
Cheap entry and amazing collection of rare artifacts found in the local area. Definite recommend for any history buff.

Parking is free! Ask at front desk
A well maintained park with a lot of flowers during spring/summer time. Urban piano / public Piano is placed here for a stipulated time usually from the last week of May to the 2nd week of June, anyone can sit down and play a tune.
Toller Besuch bei Jean...tolle Sammlung
Ich war sehr beeindruckt
Great museum full of important memorabilia. It tells the story of the occupation of Ettelbruck in Luxembourg. Your journey starts upstairs on the second floor (European first floor). Here you will find reception and purchase your tickets. A floor above that is where the story starts. There are numerous posters be other items that start from the German occupation and goes right through to the resistance and liberation by the US forces.

There is also a room devoted to General Patton.

There a few parking spots outside the museum. We arrived at 11am on a Wednesday and had no issues getting a space.

When you arrive there is a set of stairs up to the next floor or you can take the elevator.

Highly recommended if you want to really understand what Luxemburg was like during the war.

The lady at the front desk was wonderful! So kind and she spoke perfect English as well as French and German.
Lived the 100 experiments including 40 minutes movie.... Absolutely fantastic and amazed by the teachers there..... Best place for kids
I visited the museum last week and can report that the displays have concise explanations of each exhibit in four languages. The story of the people of Luxembourg under occupation has been documented. Wow. A visit to this museum should be a part of every child’s education. Lots of relics on display.
Great collection and looooooads to look at. Well worth the €5 entrance fee. Would recommend for kids too as lots of learning opportunities!
We took a visit here on a family holiday last week, the exhibits are great. Especially found the ants interesting. Little vests for kids with bits and bobs to do is also a fab touch and the price of entry was next to nothing!
HOWEVER, upon entering the area with all the taxidermy animals, a female member of staff decided is necessary to follow my every move. Where ever I went upstairs she was keeping us in eyesight and walking around so she could obviously see me.
It made me feel so uncomfortable that we left. Such a shame. Honestly I have never been made to feel like a criminal for taking my husband and kids on a educational day out.
I hope this woman is aware how awkward she is making visitors feel. Because she ruined our day.
Museum itself was great but no English translations, this is fine though as we can translate and it’s good for children to try learning new languages. Would have given 5 stars if the woman wasn’t stalking our every move.
Überall findet man kleine Details.
Empfehlung!
Eintrittspreise mit 5 Euro fair. Personal spricht englisch.
Surprise little museum of all castles in Luxemburg. Good explanation and beautiful build mini castles in very beautiful details.
Don't let the understated exterior and entrance put you off, this is an excellent museum, and great place to spend a couple of hours. Whilst the space is not huge, it is arranged over a number of floors, with all of the exhibit areas very carefully and tastefully put together. The entrance fee is only 5 euros.

The three lower levels consist of a permanent History of Luxembourg exhibition, showing the evolution of the city through the ages, and the numerous complex factors that have played a part in shaping the Luxembourg of the day. The upper three levels house a temporary exhibition, with a captivating look at "associations" (guilds, clubs, other tribes of people) on our visit.
Denkmal für Prinzessin Amelie
The building is stunning and has an awesome architecture, blending modern design into the historical Luxembourg fortress. The museum itself was very nice, €8 for adult ticket but free for students under 26. Also had free lockers to rent. The cafe was nice too but of course on the pricier end like most museum cafeterias. I still recommend grabbing a drink there though, and enjoying the ambience for a bit. There were not a lot of exhibitions on display, so we went through the art fairly quickly (maybe an hour or two?). The Peter Halley exhibit was really cool! We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was very quiet, saw a few school groups but for the most part we had almost every exhibition room to ourselves lol. It would be nice if they had more benches on the top floor though, so you can relax while enjoying the artwork. There were beanbags in the Tourmaline exhibit, which was nice. Another big plus is that the art descriptions had English translations 🙏 overall I had a good time here and saw some cool modern art
Superb interactive museum for kids and adults alike. One can find here dozens of exhibits from various areas of science which you can touch/try out. In terms of the age, as of 6 yrs old kids can for sure enjoy it. The exhibits are accompanied with the screens where you can find useful info about the exhibit and science behind. There is a parking place available not far away. The ticket cost is 15 eur for adult and 9 eur for the child and I find the value for money very decent.
Nice and well kept museum. Went with a 3 year old and they liked it though I think it’s more interesting for older kids (7+).

Some things to consider;
- no touching the exhibits (hard to control with small kids)
- closest parking area quite small this usually full and therefore have to park up and walk down into the valley where the building is - plan accordingly with prams etc
- it’s in the historical area (Grund) so can combine it with a nice walk through there
- nice restaurants and bars around the area

Perfect for a one day outing! It has about 100 stations that are super interesting! This place is not just for kids but for adults too! As an adult I had a lot more fun 😁😁 must visit! The entry ticket is 15 euros per person! There is also planetarium where you can watch a movie for about 40 mins about our universe! Super amazing 🤩
Super cool Museum. Not a fan of cars - but surely became one! thank you. also once saw a documentary about this place, lovely
