This a very small gallery in the city area. Currently it is showing” Civilization: The way we live”. The gallery is on level 2 with mostly photographic images rather than artwork.
The ticket is NT$150 per person and children under age of 10 are free of charge. While some of the photos are very interesting and realistic, You could probably finish the viewing within 1 hour.
For those of you who want more could try the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in Zhongshan district. It is much bigger and the ticket price is much lower. Although it is further from the city, about 45 minutes by MRT from city center.

A great place to go back to history and immerse in the glorious past. The exhibits are priceless. It's quite big so need a lot of time to see everything. The restaurant was quite cool too.
Great, middlebrow photo exhibit everyone can enjoy. I've seen a lot of these photos already on various design blogs, but it was quite nice to see in person. Tickets are 150 NT now.
Great Chinese history back to a few thousand years, so amazing words can hardly describe, you have to see it to believe it, calligraphy, handicraft and more..... All are well presented. One of the best history collections in the world, I strongly recommended and it's a must visit attraction.
Great place to visit, you can easily spend couple of hours there, lots to see. There is no need to book tickets in advance, no queue for walk ins. There is a nice little garden in the back.
you can take bus no R30 from shilin station, it drop right before the entrance inside. If you are student in taiwan, you can enter for free, it's big place, there 3 floors i think. There is also a Muslim prayer room after you exited from the display area, in B1, and there is ablution place inside.
You can go outside and get a good view from above.

“The Future Life, Future You – Digital, Machine and Cyborgs”

Visited on a weekday afternoon, the museum is not crowded, took around 30 minutes to walk through all exhibits. By the time of visit there was only one exhibition on show and required ticket for admission.
Great curation and an interesting mix and thought-provoking artworks on "future technology" featuring 15 artists/ artists groups from Taiwan and Overseas.
🌟The museum has strict requirements on the size of personal luggage. You will be required to store your personal belongings such as backpacks in the coin lockers outside the museum if they exceed A4 size or thicker than 20 cm.
👩🎓Free admission for students on every Wednesday
☕️The admission ticket comes with a coupon which could be used at the cafe on the ground floor

Third time to Taiwan. This is a must! Lots of history preserved here and very well exhibited! Pottery, manuscripts, maps. So much to see. Take the better part of a day to explore then spend some time in the gardens!
This is a small art museum but the experience is quite unique. They have interactive areas utilizing virtual reality. Exhibits are contemporary using digital art and audiovisuals as mediums of expression.
This museum is definitely in the top three that I have ever been to. I arrived just after opening on a weekday. No line. Purchased my ticket, rented an audio headset, and walked in. Workers were very friendly and helpful. It was suggested that I begin on the top floor and work my way down. The museum is very spacious, clean, well organized, with exhibits divided by time periods and categories with sone interactive displays. I would definitely recommend this museum as it was one of my highlights visiting Taipei.
Amazing museum of Asian art and culture. So many beautiful pieces from China that date back many centuries. With works in stone, bronze, ceramic, and many beautiful works of art and calligraphy, there is a lot to see. The Jade cabbage might be the famous piece here but there is so much more to see. The self guided tour headset is worth getting and is useful no matter what order you visit the exhibits.
Interesting small futurism focused art space. Was hoping it would be a little bigger with more art. Not much to see when I went. That’s why I docked a star.
It is free after 5pm on Saturdays. Closes at 8:30pm that day. Otherwise, it is 30NT. The space is well designed with some rotating exhibits.
There is a gift shop and a museum dessert shop across from the museum building.

incredible space with great service! i’m totally in love with the courtyard located in the middle of the museum, and this museum is really big! only 30 NTD general admission to enter, so worth it if you love all things arts!
Great art museum to pop in, depending on what exhibitions are running. The cafe on site (outside the main building) is fantastic too. Worth dropping in.
Buckle up students because you can enjoy this museum for free only on Saturdays! Don’t forget to bring your student ID with you to show the staff before entering the exhibitions. Really interesting experience from the different floors available.
I went there alone around 7 pm. Surprisingly, it’s free after 5 pm. (but I don't mind paying. It is worth paying.) There’s an Edward Yang exhibition now.
The whole museum is well-designed. Remember to allocate at least 2-3 hours for your visit.

Nice place to beat the heat. Ticket price is super affordable and staffs are super friendly. Everything is clean. They have water refill station nearby toilets.
Mind-blowing exhibits during our visit. Expect to spend at least three hours here if you love art. I wish we had more time during our visit! We arrived after 5 pm on a Saturday and were surprised to learn that admission was free by then.
A very well presented private gallery, contemporary art in words, sculptures and photography, mainly local focus but presented in Chinese and English. Definitely worth a visit.
Really enjoyed this small art museum. The show I saw was about urban and industrial decay. My favorite was the exhibit of artificially fossilized machinery. The setting is a modern building with an amazing coffee shop in the lobby. The fruit tea was the best I’ve had.
Beautiful museum right sized for provocative, thought provoking exhibitions. We curated shows make good use of the unique features of the space. Highly recommend seeing any show here. I recently seen a terrific show here regarding immigrants, home, place, Flying Land.
