Central Florida Parrot Rescue and Parrot Sanctuary

Amazing great people! The sanctuary is a beautiful place! For the people who just drive up without making an appointment please call them you don’t just show up somewhere think it’s Publix and you can go shopping! These people are super busy so appointments should be made as they are far we waited about 18 weeks to get the opportunity before you get a address to the sanctuary in eustis Fl

Awzome place wonderful people! Animals are loved! And very well taken care of!

Our 80 yr old friend cannot take care of her African Grey anymore. To help her, my daughter called this sanctuary as it had good reviews online, and they agreed to pick the bird up on that same day or the next day. They also mentioned a suggested donation for their services of picking up and taking care of the bird. As our elderly friend couldn’t afford the donation, my daughter happily sent it. As of today, despite multiple phone calls on our part in which they assured us that they would pick up the bird soon, they haven’t still shown up to pick up the bird, nor have called us. Our elderly friend is still struggling to take care of the bird and still trying to find a good home for him. Beware and lesson learned, no donation until we make sure it’s a legit animal sanctuary and they are really using these funds to take care of the animals.

Although I am sure this is a great facility after speaking with one of the members of management I drove an hour and a half to this location and it is not the location where the birds are kept it is office only in a residential. So don't think that you're going to just drive there it requires an appointment so look at the website and book an appointment. Too many rude and inconsiderate people just drop their pets so they had to go to this protocol which I totally agree with and understand. So the only reason for my rating is because it's an office not the sanctuary

They are making sure their parrot rescues and all volunteers stay safe during this pandemic by staying closed. That has to be so hard and I commend them for doing so. It shows a great amount of dedication and compassion! God Bless them all!

Paul worked with us to help aid a blue baby ringneck parrot, he stayed in touch with us and updated us constantly. He came and explained the procedures of the sanctuary, and how our bird would be taken care of. We feel relieved that the sanctuary was able to come in and help, and we are confident that the bird will be in good hands now. They even take the birds to the veterinarian for checkups and other purposes, which makes us all the more confident that we made the right choice.

I hope to visit. After reaching out to gather information, I am disappointed to learn there is no plan in place for the future. Board members are all family members. No financial stability. While they may be wonderful caretakers, those who are looking to place their parrot with them need to ask the tough questions. At this point, I would not place a bird here nor recommend this place for placement options. I would like to see them work towards long term sustainability before they take in any more birds.

Paul, thank you for coming out and picking up our parrot Suki. We know that he will be in good hands and well trained to make a good companion.
We appreciate all that you do. It takes special people like you to help animals in need. Thanks again for doing a wonderful job.
