This was a nice quiet place. The udon was tasty, though the curry udon was far sweeter than I was expecting. The BK udon was good.

The tempura however there was almost no selection sadly and it all looked like they were the leftovers sitting out for hours. I'd like to see some new fresh tempura.

There was a nice quiet atmosphere and some nice artwork to look around at.

If you love noodles, you’ve got to try this place. When you first walk in you order your meal and they serve you the noodles, broth, meat, and toppings. Then you walk around the side and you have the choice to “add on” tempura to your plate - they have shrimp, squid, chicken, chicken katsu and a few more. We ordered the Curry Nikutama and it was really good! But warning that because these noodles are soupy, it’s very easy to splash on what you are wearing (we couldn’t avoid it and tried very hard).

The best udon in my life. The food is amazing and in less than 2 minutes you are already eating your udon. I really recommend.

Fantastic place to fill your craving for freshly made Udon Noodles! The place is very clean and staff + service is friendly. It is a little confusing when you first walk in on what to do if you haven't been there but the staff can help answer any questions.

I got the Curry Udon noodles and added pork chatsu, tempura flakes, extra green onions and a hard boiled egg. I also got the firebomb to make it spicier and then my they also have a soft boiled egg for those who prefer runny eggs. They also have sides like fried chicken, shrimp, asparagus, etc. which is grab and go (you still pay but it's not expensive) which is convenient. All the food was very farm/hot/fresh as well and the flavor of the fried stuff was great.

I will say the Udon broth was sweeter than I expected but I just added more fire bomb to it to balance it to my tate preference. The noodles for amazing! Freshly made and you can tell the quality is high.

Overall I would highly recommend if you're craving some great Japanese Udon Noodles!!!

I acquired the joy of eating udon when I lived in Tokyo for 4.5 years -- surely, udon is one of the things that I should try when moving to US. The kitsune udon (udon soup with flat tasty tofu) is simply authentic and fresh (made from scratch in the restaurant). Tempura is OK, but I always missed the kakiage vegetable tempura ("bird nest" type) -- they need to make more!! Do not expect to hear the shout of "irashaimase!" (welcome) here. Just order and eat -- the udon is already fantastic!

If they had one of these in Fort Worth, I'd have a serious, delicious problem. I loved this place so much!! I like that you get to see the food on the line before you order. They offer tempura and korokke and other side dishes you can add. It's somewhat cafeteria style, but it was quick and easy to go to. The udon noodles were thick and tender, and the broth was full of umami! I highly recommend if you're an udon fan in the Carrollton area.

I had my lunch here on a Saturday noon, and this place was not that busy.

The environment is spacious, neat and organized. The bathroom is clean.

The menu is on the wall, and you will order the main course firstly(ramen bowl or rice bowl). While walking to the check out spot, you can pick any tempura you like. You will meet the cashier last and order the drinks before check-out.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

The udon served at Marugame is always cooked to perfection having and the broth contains a deep umami flavor. There’s no boring flavors here! But what I think sets this apart from most other places is how much you can customize your order. You want more tempura flakes or none at all? They got you. Their tempura is actually really good too. Sure it can get pricey if you grab a lot, but it definitely can add additional flavors and texture to your meal. The only gripe I have is some of the tempura will be sold out so you’re not guaranteed to have what you’re craving for.
